I play my Stealer Cult as a tyranid army. Some clever modding/proxy required but so far all my random opponents has been enthusiastic. It helps to have an armylist with proper descriptions.
older "civilians" in the form of frateris militia, necromunda etc as termagants. (
IG as gaunts with upgraded weapons)
Rhino (painted as an arbites rhino with obvious purple freedom-grafitti on them) as tervigon
stealers (duh)
3rd + 4th
gen hybrid H-w-teams as hiveguards
Magus with acolytes as zoanthropes
Patriarch on throne, modded to be carried by gimps on a dais as a
HT
Patriarch on foot as broodlord
teams of hybrids with riotshields as hiveguards
Crazy scientist hybrid with steampunk style poisongun as venomthrope
It makes for a pretty decent (but not tournament-worthy) horde-army. Even though I regularly loose to players younger than my models :-)
Under construction/planning:
Leman Russ (also obviously liberated from the imperial opressors) as tyrannofex
IG mortar teams as biovores
Suicide bombers as sporemines
Hades Breaching drill from forgeworld to be modded into a tervigon/mawlock equivalent
infantry with dragonfly-wings as gargoyles
roughriders as hormagaunts
I'm looking for the 54mm genestealermodel that was cast for Inquisitor. I want to use it as a carnifex.
It's a project of love that I have far too little time and no room at all for right now. I have some old pics in this thread:
