40k costumes are generally hard to pull off. Sometimes, they're time-consuming and can easily come off as derpy(space marines), although the grey knight one looks pretty awesome(the second one I believe is actually a 'prop', not a person). I think the 'safest' route would be vindicare assassin or commissar

And when someone actually has a decently attractive GF painting with them. I wrote a story about that sort of thing once. I find that commissars and sisters of battle are actually the worst in terms of nerdiness.

It depends on where you live tbh. In the states I've met some very neckbeardy types but also a good mix of attractive and interesting players in the wargaming hobby. I've even seen a few females here and there, a few years back. I can't remember whether they were whales or not though.
In my region of Asia, however, it's mostly the neckbeardy type, sadly, and by neckbeardy I don't mean literally having a neckbeard since most of these guys can't actually grow a beard at all but rather that they are fairly awkward, unwashed and unattractive. Surprisingly, most of them date actual women; unsurprisingly, the women are almost as unattractive as they are. All I can say is that upon walking into most gaming stores in South East Asia the stereotypes slap you in the face. Perhaps I need to work on getting my drinking buddies and non-warhammer friends into wargaming. Not only would I be saving them from future liver failure I might also attract some people who actually shower into the local stores, which can only be a good thing.

I actually stopped going to a gaming store because the neck beards there didn't shower. There was also a King Tiger of a girl who was talking about weird perverted stuff, and the staff wasn't doing anything to moderate it. It was the worst nerd BO I have ever experienced.

fething hell that's a long shower!
I shower in about 5 minutes. I get wet, turn the water off, soap up, scrub for a minute, turn the water back on, get out.. How can you string it out for twenty minutes? Do you use some of that fancy conditioner you have to leave in for ten minutes?

Twilight Sparkle likes showers?
Time to report this to EQD.
In all seriousness though, I like long showers after I work out or something, but usually it takes like ten minutes tops. It's not hard at all. Apparently it is though...sigh...not looking forward to friday night magic/40k this week. Maybe I should stop showering too and see if that makes it more tolerable, if you can't beat them, join them kind of a thing.

There is but one cure to the neck beard conversion process. But it will be costly. It will be painful. It will be so mentally taxing that even the greatest of men are driven mad by it's mere mention. A shower and shave.

'Tis the only way, or the neckbeard will slowly consume your face until all that is left is a great ball of hair. It's a process repeated on so many males of our glorious race. And the occasional female.
As for the topic, I honestly think that the armor is beast. And really gives me an insight into what it would be like to live in the crazy, crazy world of 40k.

Perhaps, but the beard must be removed before it encompasses the neck. And then you are too far gone.
Well, with models it's sort of easy to forget that they are supposed to be the future. It's hard to imagine them being real humans, especially since how a military uniform dehumanizes someone. With a sweet cosplay, you can just, for a fleeting moment, picture yourself as an Imperial citizen/guardsman viewing this Spess Mahreen in all of his resplendent glory. And then do you realize that we are in the 40k 'verse, but we don't know it yet.
