Hello forum members. I want to start a Project log called "Green as a lizard". Its going to be my new small Salamander army which will probably end up on eBay. But if I will fall in love with it I will leave if for my personal use. I'm planing on having a dreadnought, one Rhino, one Razorback, two squads of space marines, one squad of scouts and Forgefather Vulkan Hes'tan. For now this is what I've came up with.

You can also follow the project on my blog.

Cheers.
Brovatar.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

The bases look great, and your GS'ing is good - though I have to say it looks as though Vulkan has really short thighs, or his breastplate/torso has slippled down.

Think this is because he has quite a long neck and tall shoulders, and the buckle on the loin cloth is very low and looks like it is a belt buckle about the waist, but then you see his knees are right underneath it.

Are you going to go with black skin and red eyes as per the fluff? This always strikes me as quite difficult to pull off...

Yes there is. I'll post some tomorrow. The PF is my sculpt casted by a friend. I plan on casting some more and selling them.

Wow, that is a beautiful looking dread. One thing that might make it that little bit better is a little OSL around the legs from the lava.

Those conversion are impressive and the green is nice and striking. But I love the freehand flames the most. They are very well done!

Your GS sculpting skill is awesome. The flame details are superb.

Incredible work both converting and painting. The finished combat squad with custom bases really popped.

I really like that you went for dark brown skin instead of silly retcon charcoal black skin. The dark brown fits much better with the greens.

Only critism is the many static poses on the tacticals. Seems there are AoBR marines in there and those are not super posable, but just repositioning their heads would help.

I have about 9 from AoBR and I repositioned the heads on few models and yes it makes them look much better.

Nice tacticals. I like the bases especially.
Yet, I think the Sergeant's Power First would look better with a different colour scheme to distinguish it as a weapon, e.g. good ol' hazzard stripes or something like that... Well, just my 2c.
Also I have to agree with Illumini about posing, but it's not a big deal.

Amazing!

salamanders were my first army, this was before I even learnt to shade or highlight. they then turned into pre heresy death guard before going on ebay.

good work
