It was announced last year around Blizzcon, but timing aside, I am pretty sure this is legit. Way too many kits for a simple April fools joke, especially with the announced last year point. Anyways peoples thoughts?

My boys have both been dancing around the room today, expressing their desire for these at Christmas, but as a WoW player the loot codes could be interesting. If any of it is for vanity pets, they have already taken my money.

I'm surprised it took this long for this kind of WoW product tie in to be released.

Vanity pets, why do they vex us so?!

Took awhile for the Halo megabloks to come out as well.

Me thinks lego (the company not the man) is missing out big time.

Considering this was announced along with Starcraft Megablocks at Blizzcon last year, and there was a free Thrall test figure available at the event, thats one hell of a long haul April fools. Kudos on them if they have, but I somehow doubt that myself.

Nah, LEGO's too busy with their Star Wars, DC, Marvel(which Mega Bloks used to have), and Pirates of the Caribbean licenses.

Besides, LEGO has the Lord of the Rings license, why would they want an inferior fantasy license?

Thats kind of the reason I think Mega Bloks went for WoW, Lotr is due from Lego this year, and they want some kind of fantasy world to put out on the shelves.

WoW bizarrely is probably the most recognized fantasy setting after Middle Earth at the mo, thanks to TV ads, and general coverage across the media none of the others, no matter how good or bad they are receive.
Once the movie appears, that profile will be even higher.

I'm personally happy with both mind, I like Lego, but I like the fact Mega Bloks makes the characters a bit more stylized, so they look closer than Lego versions would.

Also at the end of the day, my eight and six year will love these, and are already raving about them more than Lotr Lego, as they see mummy and Daddy play this on occasion.

Much like Halo, I am sure plenty of kiddies will happily play with these sets with no actual idea where it came from, or ever seeing or playing the game they are connected to. Thats before you take into account the many WoW playing parents out there who will probably pick this up for their kids.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

All they did is probably redo the original Dragons kits that they had, now those things were fantastic.

I do love the Megablok minifigs. I've got nearly 100 of the Halo ones.

Wonder why all the boxes have 8+ on them ? considering the part count for each box they should be pretty straight forward to make for 6+

Mega Bloks aren't all that bad.

When they stick together that is. (Looks over to half finished Phantom in the corner)

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

Heh, my kids honestly don't care, you think Megablocks are bad, they happily play with knock off cheapo lego as quickly as they do their Star Wars lego.

As I said above for me the figures will look better this way, the problem with lego in this case would have been identikit races. At least with megablocks an Orc will look like an Orc, not just a green lego man.

Besides, I don't tend to have much in the way of brand loyalty for a toy company. I'd been interested in this had it been Lego, Megablocks or some other toy bricks company. All I care about is its WoW toys my kids can play with.

Yeah I thought they'd have that up around the same time, as they had a limited edition Space craft at Blizzcon for folks to buy at the store.

Aye tis a fair reaction, I must admit if I was looking at these from a collectors standpoint I'd probably be a bit more skeptical myself.

However for the boys, and bonus loot for me, I'm all for it.

First one of those kits I ever bought was one of these

In the years that followed my brother and I got every set we could get our hands on.

We had that whole lot set up in out basement, we broke them up and slotted all the large bases together to make a 6x4 foot unbroken warzone of awesomeness.

Sorry lego, but nothing you had to offer me at that age was nearly as cool.
