Looks great, nice combination of a neat paintjob, dynamic pose and a rich base.

Also, I think I'll have to get an iPod.

It shouldn't, depending on your lens.

But, the iPhone has very very good automatic settings, so if you mess up with your lighting or any of your settings on the D30, the iPhone will take a better picture.

Anywho, model looks amazing, I love your gradients.

Not a fan of the green base rim, but nostalgia seems to override good taste, for many.

Lovely model, otherwise. The splashes of colorful (but not overly bright) trim work well with the muted body. For being so omnipresent, the weathering was also kept pleasantly subtle. Great work!

Yeah I catch a lot of flak on here for my bases being green. I am old school and my table top is gonna be green as well when I'm done. I just like the splash of color too on the base. I get why some don't like it.
thanks!

The best way I could describe it that while it's dirty, the dirty was cleanly applied, that is deliberate.

I know joining competitions is a nerve-wracking experience but even if you don't win, talking to the masters would certainly help you improve and you'd win in the future definitely.

Good luck!

Looks great, but a Chainmail drybrush may look good on it (don't overdo it).

Honestly a dry brush on this would not do it justice.. It looks great as is, but i think some more dings would work on it.. Other than that like I said amazing job

Brilliant painting. The metals look great - very realistic - and the splashes of red and blue really bring it all alive. Good luck with the competition. It's definitely a worthy entry!

As has been said before, the subtlety of the painting is top shelf. It creates little visual surprises all over the model, so you can look at this again and notice some new subtle detail in the weathering or highlighting. I especially love the "lower jaw." It just grabbed my attention first thing.

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."

Beautiful work. Nice light touch... Love the color in the eye slot... really sets the figure off and acts as a focal point.
