It has no doubt been done to death, but hear me out if you would. I've put a fair bit of thought into it.

THE EMPEROR OF HUMANITY
WS8 BS5 S7 T7 W5 I7 A5 LD10 SV2++
Unit Type: Infantry (Character)
Wargear: Terra Sword, Aquila Claw, Armour of the Golden Age
Special Rules: Independent Character, God of War, Rites of Battle, Acute Senses, Fleet, Counter Attack, Furious Charge, Relentless, Immortal Form, Ultimate Psyker
Terra Sword: Successful wounds always inflict Instant Death, and force successful Invulnerable saves to be re-rolled.
Aquila Claw: Counts as AP1 and rolls 2D6 for armour penetration.
Armour of the Golden Age: Confers a 2+ Invulnerable save that can always be re-rolled if failed. The Emperor must take a Psyker test to use the save against attacks that would normally ignore it. It also confers the benefits of a Psychic Hood.
Immortal Form: The Emperor benefits from Eternal Warrior and Feel No Pain.
Ultimate Psyker: The Emperor takes his Psyker tests on a 3D6, discarding the highest. If he would suffer Perils of the Warp, he can ignore it on a roll of 3+. He can use up to four powers per turn (he is allowed to use the same power repeatedly). He knows the following powers;
Smite, Machine Curse, The Avenger, Quickening, Gate of Infinity, Vortex of Doom, Hellfire, Mind Worm, Blood Boil, Fear of Darkness, Shackle Soul, Lightning Arc, Nightshroud, Doom, Eldritch Storm, Fortune, Guide, Mind War, Conceal, Enhance, Hammerhand, Dark Excommunication, Warp Rift, Holocaust, Living Lightning, Tempest Wrath, Murderous Hurricane

What's up bro?

Definitely an Apocalypse-only character, wouldn't you say? Only Daemon Lords and various Titans could have a chance to defeat him. Anything less would struggle. MAYBE an entire Traitor Guard regiment could do it!

You cannot make stats for him in the game. He is simply to powerful. With his psychic power, he could practically wish away the oppossing side.

@OP: FNP @3+, Armour changed to "May" instead of "Must" as normally you cannot take invuln saves against things that don't allow it with psyker tests, I'd stick this at 800 points. If he dies, your army gains fleet, furious charge and preferred enemy, counts their weapons as twin-linked. Respawns in 11,000 turns.

No he can't. Find even one occurrence of him doing something like that.

The psychic powers on this travesty are even more than he ever actually showed.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Humour me for a moment, if you could.

Since I will be playing the Emperor against my mate's entire force of Tyranids (including one Barbed Hierodule), what kind of tactics might I be facing?

He has lots of Gaunts, a Swarmlord, a Tervigon, a Trygon, a Mawloc, one or two Venomthropes, a Hive Tyrant, a Zoanthrope, one maybe two Biovores, a few Raveners, the Deathleaper, at least one other Lictor, one or two Tyrant Guards, Old One Eye, possibly a Tyrannofex...and who knows what else. I'd like to know what I might be expecting from all of that!

It is actually a Force Weapon, but as its rules are that of a Swarmlord Bonesabre, it made no sense calling it the former. Also, the sword is indefinitely "turned on", so there is no need to call it a Force Weapon anyway.

He's going to assault you with one unit each turn, and surround you with another.

You are going to be stuck in wave after wave of useless units while he sits on objectives and you are unable to move.

You know, everyone's so fond of making broken overpowered rules for the Emperor, but think: all we really know about him is Imperial propaganda. There's a story where he nearly got strangled to death by an Ork Warboss, and Horus had to save his ass. Does that really spell WS8 S7 T7?

This is true. WS8 maybe but reduce his other abilities like the invunerable save to 4+. Make him able to use his psychic powers without a test though.

IMO Empy's greatest strength should be in psychic abilities. Hell he managed to obliterate Horus completely despite being nearly mortally wounded.

lol. Agree. An average kiddie pool and a cinder block to hold him down and he's done. Just to be ironic, we'll shape the cinder block into a six-sided die. Now if only we could get past the Technopriest mall-cops and get him in the kiddie pool.... Oh well, we'll have to do it the old fashioned way: Waaagh!!!

Revision time! If you like/dislike anything, let me know.

THE EMPEROR OF HUMANITY
WS8 BS5 S7 T7 W5 I7 A5 LD10 SV2++
Unit Type: Infantry (Character)
Wargear: Fire Blade, Aquila Claw, Armour of the Golden Age
Special Rules: Independent Character, Acute Senses, Counter-Attack, Eternal Warrior, Feel No Pain, Fleet, Relentless. God of War, Gift of Prescience, Psyker Mastery Level 4, The Aegis, Supreme Titanic Might

Fire Blade: Counts as a Force Weapon that requires no Psyker test to activate (it is always "on"), and as such, all attacks from the weapon inflict Instant Death. In addition, such is the weapon's power that all successful Invulnerable saves made against it must be re-rolled.
Aquila Claw: Counts as a Rending Lightning Claw. In addition, successful Rending rolls inflict an additional D3 wounds against the unit in close-combat with the Emperor.
Armour of the Goldern Age: Confers a 2+ Invulnerable save. Also contains an inbuilt Psychic Hood (see Codex Space Marines) and a Ghosthelm (see Codex Eldar).

Supreme Titanic Might: The Emperor can re-roll all failed to-hit, to-wound, and armour-penetration rolls during both shooting and close-combat.
Psyker Mastery Level 4: The Emperor takes his Psyker test on a 3D6 roll, discarding the highest result. In addition, the Emperor can use up to four powers per turn, and knows the following powers;
- Smite, Machine Curse, The Avenger, Quickening, Null Zone, Might of Ancients*, Gate of Infinity, Vortex of Doom (Codex Space Marines)
- Hellfire, Mind Worm (Codex Dark Angels)
- Enhance, Guide (Codex Eldar)
- Hammerhand, Dark Excommunication, The Shrouding, The Summoning, Sanctuary**, Warp Rift (Codex Grey Knights)

* As the Emperor's Strength is already greater than 6, he only gains 2D6 armour penetration
** Sanctuary actually works as described in the old Codex Daemonhunters, not the new Codex GK

The change has been made. Also cleared up the rules of his Aquila Claw. He is not as invincible as he once was either!

Naturally, he would be focused on with extreme priority, whether he has a bodyguard unit or not (most likely Custodes). Even IF his psychic powers were blocked (Pylons, Khorne Collars, etc), his physical strength would still be more than a match for many opponents.

I still don't think making rules for anyone based off their own propaganda is necessarily a good idea. Do we really know much about the Emperor beyond legends passed down by people who worship him? How do we know they aren't simply inflating his prowess? If various alien races still told stories of the Emperor, would they really give us the same picture that Imperial propaganda tells?

You know, I seem to remember somewhere a note in the fluff that implied Eldrad and the Emperor were on first-name terms at one point. Maybe use him as a power-level guide?

I am revising the Emperor once more, because I have very recently had an idea for an alternate-universe army. He will still be strong, but not over-powered as he has been in the past.
Let me know if this version of him is even slightly better than the many OP versions that have preceeded it.

- His stats are as follows: WS7 BS5 S6 T6 W4 I6 A4 LD10 SV2++
- He keeps the following USRs: Independent Character, Acute Senses, Fleet, Counter-Attack, Relentless, God of War, Gift of Prescience, Eternal Warrior
- His "Sword of Terra" will still be an always-on Force Weapon that forces enemy ++ saves to be re-rolled
- His "Aquila Claw" will act like a Necron Tesla weapon (inflicting additional hits), and it will keep the Rending rule
- His "Armour of the Golden Age" will confer the 2++ save, and include both a Psychic Hood and a Ghosthelm
- His "Ultimate Psyker Mastery" rule will allow him to:
1) cast up to four powers per turn
2) take his Psyker test on a 3D6 and discard the highest roll
3) have access to all powers in the GK Codex, including those unique to certain units and characters (such as Holocaust and Zone of Banishment)
