Please tell me i'm not the only one whos considered this?
For 35pts a pop i sure as hell wouldn't mind spending that for a 24in TW MM! and it would be even better for BA players, you could definintly get into melta range 1st turn with this. Instead of staying back and firing Lascannons and Plasma Guns you could finally move forward and press the attack and would even allow the chance to give your assault or tactical marines plasma guns or flamers instead of meltas. I think this would be an amazing addition to the SM firepower, not to mention more conversions

Only thing is the razorback's armor makes it more vulnerable to return fire. If it is spearheading an assault, it's gonna die to most everything that really wants it that way.
That job really is more geared towards land raiders
I think of razorbacks as mobile lascannons carrying scoring units you want to stay safe for rapid re-deployment

35 points? That seems like a lot! According to the Forge World balance team, the swap should be free
35 points might seem fair but the ability to take 80 point move and fire TLMMs would be game breaking for SM.

Well actually for BA players it would still only be 55pts thanks to the assault marine discount and they can still move 12 and fire, it really would be game breaking! But then it would also bulk up vanilla, wolves, and knights

In other news, why do you think razorbacks need to be any better?

For 80 points, Marines get a single vehicle fast vehicle with two multi-meltas.
For a further 190 points, every one in the army is twin-linked.

Razors are 40 standard.
Anyone who remembers my aweful Dragon Marine fandex might remember I slotted in a MM Razor. While the cofdex itself was a fail, a TL MM is definately something I would like to see, outside of GK. They shouldn't have much melta outside of Inquisitors and Henchmen.

It's not about look guys, lord knows it would look better than the stupid laser. Only FW makes it because it would be almost an auto include. Can you imagine if Chimera had a 5 point autocannon or missile launcher upgrade for realz?
And of course space marines don't get immolators. It's one of the only things sisters get! Do you imagine it's more creative if the option is added to their tank, as opposed to simply also giving them access to immolators? Do you think there isn't a reason that twin linked multi melta has been rather obviously left out? I'm here scratching my head at razorbacks with access to an incredible range of weaponry, and you're sad because they don't have the best gun for cheap as a squad upgrade?
It's too good, especially in BA lists, and it puts the nail in the coffin for a lot of diversity in the game. They give us meh choices so we have to make tough and cool decisions. Space marine dex's keep on getting more and more diverse and the defining aspects of other armies keep slipping away. Not to mention SM players probably only have the vast options they do now, out of a desire to make new players excited and make all the old players rekit.
But you are right, it would be super good, and for some reason, entirely appropriate to have a twin linked multi melta on top of a rhino. Space marine armies should have the most access to everything ever, at least as much as other armies that have lots of access to special weapons as a defining trait, and of course you can ram any combination of weapons on top of razorback these days for under 90 points. I just don't understand why there aren't any melta baal predators yet.

Conceptually, if they can mount a TL Lascannon, their is no reason they couldn't put a plasma cannon or multi-melta up there. Pricing should probably be about the same a a TL LC.
And why not let guard take AC Chimeras? Just price it in. 10 pts sounds about right.
The least of the sisters problems is another faction getting melta turrets....

from looking at dreadnaughts, arent multimeltas usually single while lascannons are twin linked. Perhaps give SM a non twinlinked multimelta on their razorbacks.

If this were so, I'd assume they'd ridiculously overprice the obvious option, to make the game more interesting.
