Im gutted though. Just bought a German Mortar platoon and some loose Panzerfausts. I should be able to sell the fausts but im halfway through painting the mortars. Even so, i will be buying this kit. Most of what i have is from PSC with the odd bit from Battlefront.

I want to see sqrue shots. This thing has potential, but I want to see the fausts mixed in on a base with BF models. I have pleanty of BF "basic" troopers, but if I can pick up fausts and schrecks to make more accurate stands, I will be sold on this.

well i know what i will spending my gaming allowance on next month!!!
Also if any one wants a sneek peek at the Soviet Arty set. they have one up, kinda of....
I was doing some shopping for PSC stuff and stumble across this. The 20 mm and 15mm set are the same.
example the new released soviet mortar set;.lCompare to the 15mm set vs. the 20mm set and they are the same!!!!
Hence my unoffical sneek peeks.

Good good. Plenty of little kneeling men to use for conversions, because I have no use for the big mortars. And this time I'll go all the way to the big city and hand a man in a shop some notes for this set, rather than pre-ordering it from Maelstrom.. because it will be bloody quicker. Actually, it would be quicker to walk to Mr Townsends house and ask him for one. And he lives on the other end of the sodding country.

"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all" Mario Savio |

Nice bits for 251/2 mortar halftracks, observer-teams etc. I am kinda regretting picking up FiB Heavy machine-gun teams now, but I will be buying this for sure.

Hi all.
MORE cool stuff from PSC!
I might be getting a Panzergrenadier army next!
Just a quick question . What base sizes do the PSC infantry come with ?
Are they BF base compatable or would I need to get bases from elsewhere?
Aren't PSC doing 251 half track conversion kits soon? EG pioneer-assault ramps, flamethrowers, Sturm um fuss (Sp?) rockit launchers, 37mm/28mm AT gun, etc.
They might do 75mm assault gun and mortar variants too...or am I getting carried away?
God bless Mr Townsend for providing all this WWII wargaming goodness!

As far as their basic infantry kit is concerned, they are not coming with any bases - but things may be different with heavy weapon kits (perhaps somebody who has obtained the Russian heavy weapon set could enlighten this?). And yes, they will be doing that, but nothing prevents us getting moar and moar other options and some crazy kitbashing

Thanks Cain.
Kit bash away mate!
It will be a while before I get around to my german Panzergrenadier army, so I might not have to kit bash as much.
(My Wife wont let me spend all my money on minatures! And I can NOT have more wargaming stuff than the attic and garage can hold.
So I may have to be a bit prudent /lie about how much I already have....before I can buy those exellent PSC german kits. )

Big P - Is Will struggling to get the kits out fast enough? It seems he has brilliant plans, and lots of things prepared but it takes a while *Flash to Bang* (in military parlance) to get it to market is this because of long lead in times to manufacturing the Box sets?

Yes... We had a long chat over dinner regarding production rates.
Its simply that it takes a long time to get a frame into production, especially given that mistakes get made and have to be corrected. He also found that the resizing between scales wasnt working as well as he hoped so he spent some time working on those issues. Its been a steep learning curve for them, but he is going great guns at the moment.
Its not so much that he is struggling, he has a great team at PSC working with him, but more that he wants everything they put out to be as good as it can be, and as they are learning so much with each new version, he then goes back to other prototypes and has them reworked to learn the lessons of whats come out. This all adds time, plus of course the usual mishaps in any design process, but Will is committed to putting out the best he can. Hence why he is planning at a later date to retool some of the earlier frames when he has the time.
I cant say much, but he does have big plans, and I know he will make them happen. I suspect you will see an increase in both the 15mm and 20mm outputs over this year and into next year. His plans for what he wants to cover in plastic are immense... and Its very exciting... Especailly them branching out into other periods.
Will is a great lad, if you see him at a show, make sure to have a chat... He's a diamond geezer. He is back over in August for another game.

I am meeting up with him at Salute. Good to know that he's cranking them out, I have to say I must have given him £120 in the last year alone with the Panthers, Panzer IV's, Stug's and 251's.
Awesome stuff.
EDIT also got that British Armour in Normandy for Easter (off my Amazon wish list) Thanks for the recommend.

Except that Zvezda does not produce Stuka, but PSC has promised to release the pioneer kit, with 251/7 upgrades, Stuka upgrade and several pioneer models to mix with their rank and file infantry (soldiers with mine detection equipment, Goliath etc). And there were some promises concerning Artillery as well.

Yeah it's pretty amazing, I have to say and i'm not nay saying because I like PSC, my infantry (about 18months old) are looking a bit ropey. Lots of minor damage, my recommendation is that if you are playing alot the extra investment in metal might be worth it.
However his Vehicles are unparalleled, people moan about weight but these people lack the imagination to put some weight in there (like some dirt cheap fishing weights etc.) The Quality of moulding is amazing compared to BF Resin.

Please convey to WIll how much his efforts are appreciated. PSC's kits seem to improve with each release, in terms of precision and detail - just compare the recent Panther with the T-34. Just as important is his obvious desire to provide a good spread of the important AFV's of WWII (and not just the glamourous ones).
I think the re-sizing between scales was a very clever idea (essentially covering two different markets with the same design), but it's leading to some aspects of the kits being the worst of both worlds - not durable enough for 15mm (which is almost exclusively a wargaming scale) but not detailed enough for 1:72. I'm not surprised he's re-thinking his approach.
I'm hoping that PSC branches out into some of the important supporting vehicles, like armoured cars and even soft-skins. A sprue with a couple of widely used vehicles (such as, say, a Horch and an Opel Blitz) would, I think, sell very well.
