To their guardsmen. Who executes for sometimes no reason... Sacrifices their guard for no reason etc...

My guess is Valhalla IG... In the codex it says something like he will sacrifice his men etc... So that got me thinking.

Somewhere in the Galactic East

Kubric Chenkov. That Valhallan goes through Conscripts like charges through a Las Gun.

Then there's the Terrax Guard; known for its extensive use of Commissars with their infantry squads. Nothing says tempered fear like a bullet in the back of the head.

Terrax Guard is harsh. But it's more a Guard consisting of only commissars. As for Valhalla, well you have Chenkov, then you have Ciaphas Cain, who would likely execute Chenkov for the latter's brutality. Same would go for Gaunt or any competent commissar as Chenkov seems to me to be a caricature of the Russian generals in the World Wars.

For the harshest regiment I would go for Krieg.

If you have nothing nice to say then say frakking nothing.

In theory, a player can make his regiment increadibly harsh via their personal regiment fluff. they can also do the exact opposite if they wish and everythign else inbetween.

Standard fluff wise, i've found the Valhallens are harsh but then others have flashes of severe actions. Again. depends on who you talk to.

Regiment: 91st Schrott Experimental Regiment
Regiment Planet: Schrott
Specialization: Salvaged, Heavily Modified, and/or Experimental Mechanized Units.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Its close between the Valhallens and DKoK.

The DKoK are really harsh, but then again they are test tube bred soldiers who think nothing of danger and are utterly disciplined and fearless. I don't even think they have Commissars because of how loyal they are.

I would give this round to the Valhallens because they would actually feel the harshness, for Krieg its just another day at the office.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

The Cadians, growing up on a world that's a stone's throw from the eye of terror, seeing the eye of terror in the night's sky, knowing that you will be inducted into the Cadian Guard when you reach the proper aging, having one or both parents in the Cadian Guard growing up, would make for some hardcore, badass, IG dudes.

I like the part of the Eisenhorn series when we was on Cadia.

Are they the baddest? Who can really answer that question?

Are they tough? You betcha!

The DKoK have Commisars, but they aren't there to enforce discipline. Hey're there to make sure the Kriegsmen don't go too far.

DKoK or Chemdogs or Mordian Iron Guard or Catachans or Elysian Drop Troopers or *Insert other famous regiments*

DKoK aren't Harsh, because they are highly disciplined. They never fall out of line so they don't need to be harsh or have Harsh discipline.

Mordian Iron guard are Iron disciplined because their planet is Harsh.

Catachan's are Super Hard because their Planet is so Harsh it breeds hardy sons.

Chemdogs are like Highly organised necromunda Gang with more Heavy Weapons and vehicles and again have a Harsh Planet.

Honestly, I think the Penal Legions are the Harshest because there is no reason ever to be pleasant or fair to them. They are criminals for the slaughter therefore you can be super cruel and nobody gives a damn.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

DKoK comes off as voluntary brutality, I'm going with the Valhallans due to Cheknov.

Uhm... the penal legions most likely, I mean they are there to die, they get fed with slaught and other drugs untill they become lunatic maniacs who only know pain and death, they are armed in the worse possible way, they most likely don't get any armor (at least none of the official art shows them with any), they get branded and treated more like servitors than people by their commanders and like animals by themselves. Commisars there probably use heavy stubbers instead of bolt/las/auto pistols (not really but you get where I'm going with this).

Wasn't there some fluff about how most penal legion troops would rather commit suicide than go on a mission with Schaeffer?

I'd still go with the Death Korps of Krieg, it's just that they're so indoctrinated that they don't care.

Can't tell you. It's a secret...

I would go with Valhallan's as well. With Krieg being a very close second.

Don't grow up!!!
