Subject: Has 40k or GW ever had an Honourable mention in "The Big bang Theory"
Just wondering if the US Comedy "The Big Bang Theory" has ever made a reference to 40k or GW products? I did hear the character Sheldon talking about Red Dwarf on an episode I caught on TV.
Quite like that show, it's well written and genuinely funny.

I've been watching since the beginning and can't recall a mention. Lots of comic book/Star Wars/Trek/MMO/CCG shout outs but no table top.
It would probably be a pretty funny episode if they did one though.

I would love to see Sheldon "Ah the Doom of Malantai, my personal favourite" brilliant. Or as a real rules lawyer, social ineptitude and 40k seem to go hand in glove..

Maybe its me but I'm not too much of a fan of shows like BBT. It seems like they make references just for the sake of references. Or maybe its because I have a hatred of Family Guy so whatever
But anyways from the several episodes I watched I cant recall any
The only show I've seen reference Warhammer/GW is Mongrels

The Big Bang Theory is intended as jokes about nerds for regular people. They try to only joke about stuff that the average viewer will know about, or at least have heard of, like Star Trek or World of Warcraft.

As a nerd, I find it a great show to watch. Most of my friends act pretty similarly to the main cast (kind of social outcasts, no girlfriend, fairly intelligent, and like to play video games and/or watch Star Trek). I jokingly told my friend that at times, the show seems like a documentary.
Truth be told, I wouldn't expect any 40k or GW references in the show. Most of the stuff that does get referenced is fairly well-known, so something obscure like 40k wouldn't go too well. A lot of the nerdy references are Star Trek and Star Wars, along with the occasional gibe at Babylon 5.
Edit: Oh, and having finished seasons 1-3, World of Warcraft isn't even in there much. I think it showed up in one episode, then never got mentioned again. Ditto with Age of Conan - one episode was centered around it, and that's it.

ya but they played it wrong. they rolled to many dice, then talked about options that don't exist. They should have at least turned sheldon into a toad

I love the show but agree that a reference to Warhammer would be out of place. But GW could pay BBT to reference it, so people look it up, find out about it, think it's cool, start playing, and then they get more people playing and they make more money.

"Mongrels" is the Best BBC Comedy of the last 10 years (with in the "The Thick of it" in 2nd). "Peep show" still has the best reference "I'm cancelling out of shame, like my subscription to White Dwarf" genius.

hehe no worries.... Here's some Vince the Fox from Mongrels to soften the blow... Genius character, the most offensive, violent and lovable character ever in a Sitcom.
NSFW
Vince is definitely a "DARK ELDAR" player.

To be fair, they did that with World of Warcraft, and I imagine with Age of Conan. Apparently the WoW in the Big Bang Theory universe has an item called the Sword of Azeroth, which can be sold on ebay, and you can have sex with other characters.

When Sheldon's WoW account got hacked they talked about the game totally wrong... it seemed more like the writers just read about it rather than actually played it.

Have you never been to Goldshire?
The sit animation and /me function pretty much make it work A-Ok.
I speak from experience.
I'm just going to go hide in a corner and play Second Life now...

I have noticed a 40k reference in the background; an Ork poster in the comicbook store, to the right of the counter. I can't find a screenshot of it. The pictures I find that are the closest have it just out of frame.
