I'm playing in a Tourney shortly which is using a funky Highlander format.
The basic premise is that you have no duplicates of units. You also have to fill a standard FOC:
1 HQ 2 Troops then 1 of each of the Elites, Fast Attack and Heavy support before you can add more of them.
This does make the tourney fun as the usual uber spammy lists can't appear as you have to be varied.

So heres the List:
HQ 1
Warboss With PK - 85

Troops 1 -162
12 Boyz with Nob (PK and BP)
in a Trukk with Armour and RPJ

Troops 2 - 40
10 Grots with Runtherd.

Elites 1 - 338
7 Nobz
Nob1
Nob2 Power Klaw
Nob3 Power Klaw Boss Pole
Nob4 Power Klaw Ammo Runt
Nob5 Power Klaw Waagh Banner
Nob6 Big Choppa Boss Pole
Painboy

Fast Attack 1 - 35
Warbuggy TL Rokkit

Heavy Support 1 - 135

Armour Plates

Noz with Warboss and Big Mek get in the BW, Trukk sits next to it. Lootas shoot, Grots cower at the back. Buggy is an annoyance where possible or just dies.
Trukk and BW roll forward and Boyz get out and Get Krumpin.

AV14 at 1000 Points with no spam, I should be able to make it some distance, hopefully.
Nobz have a 5++ and FNP after that as well as KFF giving 4+/5+ to the BW+Trukk/Boyz+Nobz.
Armour lets me keep moving even if I get shaken.

Any thoughts on the list or anything you'd change, based on the Highlander rules.

Your nobz count as troops if you take an warboss as your HQ I believe. Although don't have the codex with me to check. But I think you have bigger problems. The fact that you can't repeat units means you have no synergy on your list which will hurt you badly. I would look instead into a Kan Wall variant With one unit of Kanz a Deff dread and three buggies as your "screen". And behind it the boys would march along side the nobz. Another option is to leave the buggies and use a deffkopta with TLRL and Buzzsaw.

I 100% agree on this part, i always choose Deffkoptas over buggies, especially as decoys, with the explorer rule you can boost your way in a good position at the beginning of the game and give the enemy a target to deal as soon as possible, and with the 3+ plus cover of the boost, shots WILL be wasted on it... if he survives you can try a CC flanking attack on the back/side of vehicle the opponent was safely keeping out of your reach (after a TL rocket)... unlike buggies, they are made to be suicide bombers, and with a bit of luck they're good at it!

The Warboss allows me to take them as troops but it doesn't say I have to.

The Warbuggy is the cheapest thing I can put in that slot, a tooled up Deffkopta would cost twice that of a buggy meaning that I'd lose out on a Nob with PK.

If going for the Kan wall, would you drop the BW and trukk and then max out the Boys to 30?

For the points I'm not sure the Kan wall is possible without really cutting into the Nobz or the Lootas.

I actually believe it gives you no choice. But don't have the codex in hand so can't confirm. But it doesn't make a difference to your list anyway.

That is true but I single AV10 open top vehicle with a weapon that misses the shot most of time is not scary. You can either take a squad of three or take a Deffkopta. The Deffkopta will give some mobility that the kan wall lacks while with turbo boost scout and TLRL S8 and S7 on the charge can wreck a pesty vehicle first turn.

Definitely drop the BW and the trukk they won't last past turn one against most lists although with the rules of your tournament is always hard to say. But You don't have enough points to take a 30 units of boys due to the expensive price of the nobz. If you want to keep them I would take:

Thanks for the feedback, I do quite like the idea of Nobz to deal with bigger things, but the DCCWs should be effective too, now to check on the models I have knocking about.
