Hey there Dakkalads! First post time! Been lurking for a while. This is just a thread of a couple ork vehicles, probably to include more as I make 'em, starting with an ork buggy.
His shell is the front two thirds of an old beaten up mk1 rhino with an upside-down pickup bed from some hotrod kit on top to hold the flimsy body together.
(Please ignore the left picture as the wheel arches have now been attatched)
Next is a WIP shot of a trukk
I realised after painting that the gap in the gunner's seat/holder thing shows that he only has half legs .... I'll haveto cover it up later.
Painted pics:
Painting isn't the best but suits me well enough
Sorry about the bad quality pictures but I think they're good enough for C&C.

A lucky dry spot between the almost constant rain this morning meant I could get the buggy primed to paint it, so here it is!

Not quite as speedy as the other two is the Looted Bassy that's up next for painting. Made a while ago I'm finally gonna paint it! .. promise.
I swear I primed it today but the non-black bits in the picture seem to disagree with me ...

Like the buggy, it' a bit different from the usual conversions you see about. The truck looks properly ramshackle, look forward to seeing your looted wagon with a bit of paint on.

And then there was colour! ickle bit of progress on the basilisk and the mekboy finishing up the welds on his latest shell for it.
PIP:
C&C most welcome.
@Mu: Thanks, I was gonna / plan to make another buggy (or even two more if it goes well) from scratch, roughly the same size+shape but it seems I'm one right-sized wheel short

Thanks Mortalitas, glad you like em and thanks for commenting
Bit of an overview here, with a sort-of army shot.
That's:
- Big Mek (front centre)
- Tankbusta mob (middle centre)
- Grot mob (middle left) [I've got another 10-ish in me' bitz box to add to them]
- Mob o' 20 shootaboys (front right)
- Shootaboys(front left) [waiting on a trukk to ride in]
- Deff Dread (right middle) [needs painting]
- Trukkboys and their ride (right rear)
- Rokkit Rhino Buggy
- Looted Skorcha Wagon [needs paint]
- Looted Basilisk
- Battlewagon [waiting on repairs and a bit of a repaint]
Most of the foot sloggers need paint touch-ups and such for what I missed the first time round.
Next thing to be built if I stick to what I say should either be another buggy or two to go alongside the Rokkit Rhino or a trukk for the shootaboyz that are getting a bit grumpy havin' ta slog it around the place.

Ok so here comes the trukk, made from ye olde rhino tracks.
The first step was taking the time to file away the 100 year old superglue the originial builder used and cutting off any unpleasent bits / smoothing off the sides where the hatches used to live.
Then I cut some of the first bodywork bits out o' plasticard, to give it a bit more of a 'trukky' shape. (barrels are just to hold it up, don't think I want wheels there either)
I'll probably edit this post with progress as I'm working on it right now
EDIT: Here's some later photos, with the cab shape almost complete, don't worry it'll get more plating so it doesn't just look like a poorly constructed box ...
This trukk features a rokkit launcha, something my previous lists have lacked so I mean to include some
Plating got started on the sides, leaving gaps in the hull as this thing is only AV10, the trukkbed section is gonna get some mismatch plating for the lads to stand on but I'm not sure what else to do with the back end. Maybe a barrel and/or jerry can strapped on.

Right! Internet's been down for this week and I've been lucky enough to .. 'procure' my dad's seperate interweb stick.
The rhino-trukk's finished now, currently primed and probably waiting until the middle of this week to get painted, here's some pictures before it was primed:
He got a barrel of fuel for the back, a little extra plating around the top so the lads don't go falling out, some ladder rungs for the slowpokes to hang onto if they don't make it inside and some big exhaust tips. The rokkit-launcha recieved a gitfinda so it shoots better, that's how it works right?
I also painted up a looted chimera from a little while back, nothing fancy but here's some pictures:
Took a quick scale shot for you Mort:

So I got the trukk painted and took a few pictures.
I tried to paint a few checks on this one, didn't come out great but they'll do
There's gotta be someone out there with an opinion right!?

The rhino / trukk is looking good, I've got an old ebay rhino kicking about but I was never satisfied with my attempts at converting it but I'm looting a couple of ideas from yours. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Mu, be sure to upload it so I can have a look if ya get round to it
Here's the latest thing:
It's a Deff-Dread, obviously. He's the first to be painted with that there new 'Mephiston Red' so I hope he fits in with the others painted with Blood Red(orange). I didn't put up any WIP shots of him as he's nearly straight-out-the-box built but he has a beakie multi-melta for a KMB, half-sized engines as I thought they looked just a little too big and a BW claw for one of the DCCW. He, along with the rest of the army once painted, should get based with one of the new lazy man's textured/3D paints GW just came out with some time in the far far future.

Righto! Still no internet besides the occassional use of this 'well-known phone company' dongle but should be sorted by early june.
What I've been upto: Painted a mob of 19 choppa-slugga boyz for the army, a 5 man(ork) squad of nobz, made and primed a new wartrakk nicknamed 'The russ-T wartrakk' and started thinking about a nice new trukk for the Mekboss and his nob retinue.
Here's a few shots of the choppa ladz:
Please forgive the awful photos, they do look better than in them there pictures, honest.
Here's the nobz:
Individual shots of just two of them:
WIP shots of 'The russ-T wartrakk' :
He currently sits, primed, on my desk waiting for some paint.
Last and maybe even least is a little bit of trukk for Mekboss Kogbasha and the nobz you saw above. The idea will be to make this trukk look the fanciest of the lot as nothing but the best is good enough for the the boss and his best nobz.
love / hate / rants / comments welcome!

Orkwards and upwards!
Now a while ago one of the guys working in the local (but still pretty far away) GW used duel-width leman russ tracks for his GW battlewagon and the original ones for the front. I thought I could do something similar but with a pair of land raider tracks. I then sat the two things nexto to eachother and realised how big the tracks were. Still, it had to be done and this is the result:
Some of you might be thinking (I know I would be) "But that's two £30+ models used to make one!" That is kinda true but I managed to find the land raider in a bag with the MK1 rhino from before and a couple land speeders, painted ultrabeakie bloo, at a recycling centre and snapped em up for a couple quid! (The land raider has since been about 2 different battlewagons but this should be it's final rusting place.)
At the moment all I can think looking at it is "that's a land raider with a GW BW stuck on the top" but hopefully when It's primed / painted it'll merge together a bit nicer.
