Everything has now been ordered... so its just a question of waiting for the postman. With my vampire counts 1k force complete and won 3rd place at a tournie this saturday. i'm safe for any commitments i have, and my iron warriors have about 1500pts worth to paint so i don't need to worry much about them this month.
And now the first model of this group, he's base coated white and thus far he's the only one to arrive, but here is my gang leader;
He's based on avatars of war's Marauder lord, i must say i was shocked by the scale of him. I've adjusted his sword to the other hand, using GS to create a tencle/claw thing (since it's in my gang list) and a laspistol as i couldnt find anything in my box that wasn't an ork/bolt gun. I'll be taking my time trying to hit a new level of painting, since i've only got 11 mini's to do for this force at first and at least two weeks till my first game. Those two wolves are going to be part of a space wolf force that'll be built in this blog as well during the next few... well, moths. i've committed to a 3 company (1 grand company) strong iron warrior force, and i'll be damned if i don't complete it.

Ooh, I like the avatars lord, he looks really cool, maybe file off the chaos-y detail on the head but...
Anyway, after looking at your gallery images paintjobs I will be watching eagerly.
Can I suggest buying a second scaly before beginning the campaign? Its unlikely you'll get enough money to outfit another after the games begin.

Helmet wise; agreed. see below. As for the heavy; i'm considering it, i also want to get access to the market... i could really use a heavy stubber over another blunderbus/speargun.
Ok photo time; now my first attempt at this guy looked horrible. So much so i decided to strip it. Here's the photo's of Gangleader the brown;
I've now adjusted the scheme, i'm taking it via colours from the artwork at the top of the thread, dark blues, greens, touches of red and brown. There's a lot of work left in this so don't judge it to harshly. Opinions welcome though.
As per the norm, all opinion, comments and advice welcome, paticularly in terms of weapon conversions.

...... WOW. I want to get my hands on that miniature and emulate what you've done.
However........ and this is ooonly a tiny nitpick...
His laspistol arm is kinda 'bulky' for a scavvy. What about using an arm from the flagellant or ghoul set? The laspistol arm looks
like it belongs on a Goliath or Catachan jungle fighter.
the colours are brilliant though, its definitly got a strong underhive vibe. well done.

They're looking good so far. Have you taken a look at the article "Two Heads are Better than One" in Gang War 4?
I read it a while back and it had some good advice for scavvy players. I think I've actually got the issue on my shelf here, actually.

I like the new head, the old executioner style helmet was cool and I hope you've saved it for something else. The green copper on the armour is very scavvy. On the whole, he looks properly underhive grimdark.
If you don't want to buy the speargun, why not go naked and only take close combat weapons and a pistol?

I don't think there are any gangs other than scavvies in Necromunda! Not a bad thing!
I like that model, I think he's been working out a lot more than any of my scavvies.

It's time for a long overdue update. I've put together my first few gangers, they are still WIP, but i quite like them atm.
There's two of the scallies, One complete with stubber/scattercannon and the other is WIP. At he moment i really love the mini totempole mutant on his back..
I've also got some new bits from a trade for some of my old orks. 3 Tanks for my space wolves, the speeders i've magnetised so i can strap heavy bolters on to. the idea of 6 heavy bolter skimmers makes me happy so now i just have to find one more.

So as some of you may remember around about 5 months ago i started building up a space wolves force, i haven't got very far yet, but with an upcoming combat patrol tournie it has given me a great excuse to make a crack at it.
So what's involved; well i'm trying out alot of new techniques to up my game, including changing my painting technique from my trademark blache grim grit and dirt to something a touch more elegant. I've been using the new GW paints, and they've impressed me so far. With two greys and black i've managed to get this, and please note i haven't gotten very far in the technique, but i'm really happy with the bare bones;
I've ordered alot of nice kit to make this a combined retro looking force, with all kinds of era's of design, even a classic razorback turret and a puppetswar one (which i decided to get because thanks to greece the £ is worth a lot more than a few weeks back... Necron fans, watch this space, after 7 months i'm about to do my first 3 models). Hopefully i can get a really nice force going, at 400 points and 19 models it should give me plenty of time before the july deadline for my force to be done. As you can imagine, i've chosen the wolflord Engir Krakendoom since he's fluff fits my style of playing (fast assault via rhino's) rather than the overplayed ragnar drop pod armies or the wolf heavy harald armies.
Anywho's, updates some time soon i hope.

Hey guys, quick update.
Since i've not had much chance to progress my wolves, i've decided to try raise some funds. I painted this about 3 months ago, and whilst i really like it, i figure i'll be able to sell it for enough for at least one of the two infantry sets i need.
It's currently on ebay, starting price £20 link
thanks for viewing, i'll be returning with updates during the next two to four days
