Greetings everyone. Here are the final pics of my recent conversion of a Grey Knight Nemesis DreadKnight. I got this as a christmas present and it took me a while to decide on how much I wanted to change it from the standard baby carrier. You can see the work in progress pics of the sculpted parts here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/443836.page

The weapons are magnetized as well as the sword hand and replacement fist. I just mounted both guns to get them both in the pics. The base is just cork, I didn't want to go overboard on it.
This turned out to be a very fun project and I will be picking up a second kit and doing another conversion but this time I'm going to try some new ideas.

Nice to see it finished. Definitely looks like something that could charge through a myriad of lesser Daemons to punch a greater Daemon in the face.

This is awesome work of a high calibre, the only critisicm i have it the stance looks a bit akward, like it is going to topple forward.
In no way should the comment detract from this otherwise excellent piece

Definitely the best Dread Knight I've ever seen. Perhaps the only one I've ever liked. The model GW created is horrible.

This one captures the look and feel of Imperium technology and the 40K universe.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Mega!

Definitely how it should have been done, it looks a lot more intimidating and that it actually might stand up against a steady breeze.

This is the best Dread Knight I have seen, it has raised the bar and is what all GK should spire too. no more baby carriers please.

EDIT - I actually love the Torso bulk, this thing would be deadly without Weapons, like a Greco-Roman Wrestler grabbing daemons and literally Pulling them apart, and maybe giving them "The People's Elbow".

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

How the heck did you make that? Its...its beautiful. In an ugly, fat, loveable, brilliant way...just like the Imperium itself

incredible work. This is the approach GW should have taken when designing the model. A terminator in an exo-skeleton just seems lame to me. The paint job is great, all around great job.

You should have cast those custom parts, I'm pretty sure there are alot of people who would buy a "Sci fi - Big Knight kit"

Indeed. THAT is a Dreadknight, and worthy descendant from the Forge World Contemptor type dreadnoughts. Excellent!

Brilliant job on the painting and the conversion. That is an intimidating piece of machinery.

Maybe put the NDK baby bjorn on the front though so you can have a giant GK carrying a little GK baby

Thanks guys for all your comments and feedback. I'm working on casting the second one once the parts are finished. I'll refine the head and maybe make two or three heads for variety. I was thinking o f making a mechanical head to resemble the bare Grey Knight head, may be a little too transformers looking but its worth a try. The pose is suppose to give off a feeling of motion like he's striding forward into battle, maybe its the angle of the photos but I assure you he is quite sturdy on the base and he's perfectly balanced so there's no toppling over happening here. It would be cool if those Inquisition shoulder pads popped open to reveal Robotech style missile pods or some concealed weapons like a lascannon or multimelta? And I know its not an option in game but what do you think about a Giant Storm Shield for the left arm? Is there any reason a mech that would do battle with giant demons not be able to carry a shield to deflect attacks? Maybe even mount the cannons on an iron-Man War-machine type rotating Gun platform over the shoulder to free up the left arm?
