I've been reading the current rumours about 6th edition, concerning stuff, but I came across this:

July: 6th edition hits the streets early
September: Starter Set with Chaos and Dark Angels

I wasn't there when 5th came out, but did the starter box (orks vs space marines) come out later AFTER the hardbook rulebook was available?
I have chaos and space marine stuff, so having the rules + two armies additions would benefit, I would love to have these instantly instead of waiting to not play 6th.

IIRC, yes, that's how they did it. The theory was that it was done that way to encourage people to buy the hardcover rulebook.

Well that sucks, let's hope not for this edition.

It won't be Dark Angels vs Chaos.

There is no point including two Power Armour armies in the starter. There wouldn't be any entertainment in playing effectively the same army.

I heard Dark Angels vs Eldar or Chaos vs Eldar.

Definitely won't be Chaos vs. Eldar. No way would GW have a starter set without Space Marines in it. Right now, Dark Angels vs Chaos sounds the most plausible.

Hell maybe GW will just show their true colors and have Green Space Marines vs Blue Space Marines.

My Armies:
5,500pts
2,700pts
2,000pts

It isn't MEQ v MEQ, the chaos side is full of cultists with other little bits(ork/guard size)

Also I didn't start this as a rumour thread, but a question about the current starter box. Though I brought this on myself

Yes, it did. Those of us that wanted to play in the Vegas GT that year had to buy the hardback to have the rules.

On the release table the box set is scheduled to come out a few months after the rulebook drops I believe.
