Hey all,
I recently began a Khornate Daemon army, and I plan on basing them like they are wading through a thick soup of blood and skulls. Anyone have any ideas on how best to do this? I used a similar effect with my Nurgle Daemons, using Testors clear parts cement with a few drops of green and brown paints added to make it look like they are wading through sewage...but I doubt that using red paint in the mix would look realistic, or give me the kind of 'pop' I'm looking for.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I've got the skulls down, I just need a good blood effect to pool on the base. I want it to ole more like they are just walking through gore, and larger bases will be accented by a couple "floating" skulls. Again, the skulls are just a minor point on the bases.

This is more or less what i plan on having my bases look like. Just need to know how.

you can create that easy with the clear resin you get from micheals just tinted red, with some pine bark for the rocks..

Try some Vallejo Still water or similar water effects product. Add some red ink or the like to it and then go nuts.

tamiya clear red is what your looking for!!!!
have your skulls on the base, then add some PVA glue around them.
when the paint is dry paint it with the Tamiya Clear Red.
add a drop of black or brown ink to the tamia and paint the diepest parts (furtest away from the skulls) with the darker red
paint your skulls and your done!

MisterJustin from Secret weapon actually made a video about creating gore on the bases. If you want it to be completely filled you could just use water effects.

I used a mix of Tamyia Clear Red, Umbral Umber, and UHU Glue to make the blood effects on this base and the splatter.

Thanks for all the input guys! I'm just going to go hunting for tamiya clear red extra hard now...i had already planned on using it for gore on the blades, but i didnt know you could paint it over dried PVA. Should i paint the area under the PVA any particular color before i lay down the glue?

I've also heard of using UHU glue for really stringy gross gore effects....problem is ive never seen it in my area, plus i hear it stays pretty tacky even when dried...and with a black dog that sheds constantly....i dont want my models to look like walking dust bunnies

you could use clear fishing wire for stringy effects...
as for the paint under the pva, i suggest red or black, as both the pva and tamiya are clear
