Hi Malifaux fans,
We are happy to announce that at this years GenCon we will be releasing the new Malifuax Breach Bag. Not only does this bag have 3 times the space that our original Malifaux Bag has but it also comes with wheels. With the growing range of minis for Malifaux we had to create something to carry all that metal goodness.
The new Breach Bag gives you room for Malifaux models, Puppet Wars models, books, cards, tape measures, and anything else you could dream up. The easy to carry design is also airplane friendly so you don't have to worry about checking this bag at the gate.
Follow this link to get your pre-order in today. http://us.battlefoam.com/products/Malifaux-Breach-Bag-Standard-Load-Out.html

I know this is off-topic, but since you're mentioning airplane compatibility with most bags, I shouldn't have a problem flying with the Heavy Gear Blitz bag, should I? It looks like it's noticeably smaller than other 'carry on' rated bags, but I thought I'd ask... Welcome to hear anyone else's opinion of flying with FB bags and similar, too.
I'm considering getting a PACK Go at some point in the future as well... Anyone got any experience with this bag?

I got a Pack go about the time they were released. I took it on a trip to the Uk for about 15days. I held my 15" laptop , Ipad and 3700pts Of Deathwing and Ravenwing. I had no issues at all with it during the whole trip. The TSA had no issues with the bag or the models at all. I did have to remove the laptop and Ipad 1 time to fit in the tiny Overhead storage on a MD-88 after I got back to the USA.
No issues with the 777, 737, 767, A319's over heads.
I will say with both the laptop and the ipad and all the minis the bag can be a bit heavy...

Balance - The HGB Bag is just like a business briefcase. You will have no problem taking that on even the smallest planes.
The P.A.C.K. Go is also airport friendly and will do fine for those larger armies. Most of our staff uses that for all of our convention travel. Minis and t-shirts work well with that bag.
Dez - No need for trays. The new Breach bag has room on the top pocket for books and the tiles. The side pockets will take care of all of the clips you will need to bring to connect everything.
Hope that helps.

Definitely double check with your airline for specifics though!
For example, the P.A.C.K. Air won't be allowed as carry on for Delta Flights - it is too large!

It completely depends on the plane guys. I have been on flights that use the same plane but on my return the person at the gate tells me to check it.
Same plane as on the way there and the same company. Its really up to the person at the gate to be honest. Even the smallest of bags can be asked to be checked because you boarded later in the flight and everyone used up the overheads.
Simple suggestions like checking in as early as possible and asking nicely to take the bag on baord, go a long way.
I personally fly with all of our studio armies to about 10 cons per year. Never have I had to check my army because of bag size issues.
I have been asked several times to check it but simply being nice about it got my stuff right on board. On the way to RI for Temple Con I was asked to check my PP Bag because of the smaller plane that connected us to RI Airport.
I simply told them the truth that I had some detailed minis and the lady was super nice. She actually held it in her personal baggage area in the front of the plane.
Not saying that will happen each time but be nice and check your airline. That is the key to traveling with your minis no matter what brand of bag you fly with.

First off, I read this in your voice, Romeo, which is kinda funny.
Second, do you guys at Battlefoam talk with Wyrd on future releases? Will this bag hold any larger sized models, (Colossal Sized, as an example) if they were to come out?

Without giving away the farm, we do talk to each company we are partnered with to design the best bag for their game.
This means making bags now for places the game will go later.
Putting 2 and 2 together I would say that the Breach Bag has enough room to really take care of any size model Wyrd cooks up.

Thanks for the info!
It sounds like the 'no standard "airplane friendly" thing basically boils down that if wargaming was more like professional sports, sponsored players would probably jsut budget in a 2nd seat for their minis cases.

On a slightly different tack, Romeo, have you guys gotten your Storm Eagles in yet for foam-fitting purposes? (I was that guy monopolizing your booth at AdeptiCon while agonizing over what to order.)
My painter informs me that some of his other clients have gotten theirs, although mine have not shown up yet.

yeah,
Weird that Dakka MODs pick the Malifaux franchise branded bag (even if it was first) as the topic to leave open when more people would get something out of a unbranded bag.
- I gotta say I I don't like mega threads where every thread is combined together.
Why not have two threads on for malifux bags and another for the Pack Air Custom trays,
One for discussing malifaux bags and the other for discussing Pack Air Custom Trays.
The mega thread phenomenon has gotton a bit out of control and generally turns me off new items.
Panic...

Agree, Agree, Agree, Panic. Working on solving the problem right now. Thanks for making my point. Nobody wants to read 10 pages of Malifaux posts if all they want to find out is how to layout a tray for their non Malifaux bag.
Same goes for someone looking to find out the details about the Malifaux bag. They should not have to deal with custom cut questions just to ask about a release date, or availability.
On top of that, these are two completely different items and subjects. What does Malifaux have to do with P.A.C.K. Air bags?

You could simply edit the first post to include the relevant important info. I don't see a need for a separate thread for each product. If GW releases 4 minis in one week like with the necron wave 2 release, do we allow a separate thread for every single mini so that people won't have to read through posts about a mini they're not interested in? No... If you're going to release multiple things together within a few days, make a single thread and edit it appropriately. What insaniak did was completely reasonable and consistent with other topics on Dakka.

Let's please not take this thread off-topc into a discussion about forum management. If you'd like to make your opinions known about thread control please feel free to start a topic down in our Nuts & Bolts forum.
There is no absolute requirement for companies to stick to one mega-thread, although when they are well managed they can be useful despite having a ton of old content as well.
However, we do need companies who are releasing multiple products within a small time-frame to make the effort to put those products together into a single thread so that the News and Rumors forum doesn't turn into a war between companies on who can create more threads than the other guy.
I have spoken to Romeo privately about the matter and he has assured me that he will make every effort to do so in the future and that this most certainly was not a case of trying to spam the forum but really just an instance of one product (the pack air tray being added to the custom tray creator) being available kind of suddenly so a 2nd thread was created without considering how soon the last thread had been put up.
So in short, I'm going to make an exception here and leave both threads open.
So please, back to talking about the Malifaux bag (if you want to talk about my post, again start a thread in the Nuts and Bolts forum).

Don't know if I'll ever have enough malifaux models to justify this bag (my current BF malifaux bag is only a fraction full), but nice to know its out there in case I ever need it.
