Wonderful paint job/scheme. All it needs is icons, insignia, etc. to top it off.

I like the green you chose. Looks brighter than the 'codex' one, but very good.

Can you give a tutorial on how to make the weathering? Specifically the fading from exhaust and what not.

I like the work you do the only thing I always notice though is all your vehicles from every army you paint is generally the same when it comes to the war damage and such..

Other than that love it.

While I think the quality of the work is good the models are too flat imo. The Salamanders are artificers and their vehicles and armor should reflect that. I know it is a commission and you've done the work at the level that was paid for but there is a surprising lack of emblems, gold embellishments, and flame iconography. Also the shoulder pads of the terminators should be black not green. I understand this is nit picking over what is an excellent commission paint job but they don't feel like Salamanders to me at all, they feel like Aurora or any other medium green generic SM army because they lack that Salamander character (obviously not Vulkan he is there).

Again, I think the work is nice but the detail required for Salamanders is just really lacking for me. Salamanders are one of my favorite projects ever so I have a stiff opinion of what I think they should look like.

Your airbrush work is nice just you need to work on your detail work, as above everything just looks to flat. I understand your a paint service and are just cranking out models to make a buck but it really shows that your just cranking out models every time you post stuff up. But if people keep buying them I guess that works.

Like for instance you got nice looking weathering that looks like you vehicles have been thru combat but the paint on them is pristine. Some weathering paint chips or something might help them look a bit more uniform.

EDIT I guess I need to take that back looking back there is paint chipping. Guess I don't know how to make them not look so flat.

Good work I'll agree, but like others have mentioned it all just looked a bit too flat and obviously airbrushed. I think airbrushing is a great way to paint miniatures but relying on it too much starts to detract from the work being produced.

Everyone else seems to be a fan of the brighter green, but I don't know about it. I think it looks a little closer to the Aurora Chapter green, personally. The vehicles it almost looks alright on, but down in the tactical squads it just looks too light for my tastes. (Nice paint job on Vulkan, by the way! Really, top notch stuff!) You have a very high level of skill when it comes to weathering and lighting, which I think adds a tremendous amount to the army. Is this a comission or a personal army? And do you plan on using decals for the iconography or free-handing it? Either way, it looks great.

Really? Your only comment about this amazing army is "Airbrushing detracts from the work being produced?" There is always one in every thread!

Once again I must resort to REALLY? I think you need to get your eyes checked. The effect is anything but flat. It is vibrant, glowing and heads and shoulders above anything you can paint. Or anything I can paint.

There is something about the rhinos that doesn't quite sit right for me, I'm not taking anything away from the paintjob because it's very good - it just isn't to my taste.

Flat might be the right word for it.

People are free to share their opinions. If no one gives comments or criticisms how can anyone ever improve?

You may want to think long and hard about who is trolling who.

Criticism of the miniatures AND of other comments should be constructive. Please don't call other posters jealous trolls, etc.

First of all, I don't think it's a good move to start flaming the criticisms posted in this thread by attacking how good a painter they are. It's worse if you know the OP personally and join the thread by attacking anyone with an opinion you don't like. People post here to get C&C so it should be expected as long as it is polite. I can understand what some people are trying to say with the "flat" comments. The airbrush work is technically quite good, but there are a few things that need more attention like the missing Salamanders iconography, which if it is a request from the customer to leave blank then it is a good idea to include that info. The minor details that would require some brushwork need to be done like the runes on the Librarians Force Weapon. Also the terminator shoulder pads need to be black. I have painted my Salamanders a similar green so I don't mind it really. The only other thing I would change would be the use of the Scorpion Green colour. On the marines themselves it appears to be the highlight layer but has a bit too much coverage; I think more midtone needs to be seen. I don't dislike them but there are some things to improve on and I think they would be a great army to game with.

I like some of your techniques. I have to agree with some other the others that the paint job looks quick but i am sure that it is still probably above and beyond what someone who is paying someone else to paint there army. I bet you can pump out a commission in no time at all. All in all I think it is fantastic industrial grade painting and i am jealous of your business skills.

When I first scrolled through the pics I thought the vehicals looked like 'models'. Its the airbrushes only downfall if used exclusivley to piant with and I thought the marines lacked detail.

BUT this is a commission and people pay for what they want. Like detailing, insignia, battle damage etc, etc. For that reason this is an awesome job.

I think some comments are treating this commision like its the best you can do and its difficult when giving opinions on somones work when you dont know the painting requirements of said commission were.

Nice Job.

I like the bright green, mixed with the lava bases.

Unfortunately, you missed all the opportunities that really taking time to do a good quality job allows you. Your Rhino's look flat, because they have no real detail. It is a crisp, sharp coloring, with some nice weather.
Problem: no salamander symbols if your this good at painting? Very disappointing. Doing salamander doors is very easy with bits orders. Might want to think about highlighting some black there, looks really flat.

Speeders, really crisp green.
Problem: again , no highlights on black, flat, your weapons just come out looking dry brushed. You have the ability, crack it up a notch. Do some metal work, hose work, flame work.

Symbol / Chapter markings: None
Problem: you should do squad markings as it adds to detail.

Attack bikes: you can see your mold lines from the pictures. You did not attempt a sinble lens even though you did them on Rhinos. Your basing work is sub par compared to the work on the Lava bases.

If this is a commission, I wouldn't put it out there to be shown if you consider this finished. Its a sharp work on green, you clearly can do lenses, you can do flamed work on basing and weapons, but you took short cuts.

If you take it to a GT, you probably end up getting a 12 / 20, which is highly disappointing for the level you can definitely paint at~ inconsistent usage of details, bases do not match levels of detail or them (unless you have a display base), tanks all have different level of details, lots of just dry brushed weapons, thunder hammer shields, no detail on metal work. Keep working on the army please, you have the ability to really make it pop.
