Awesome. I just got this news from the GW mailing list and am stoked. I am all for new Blood Angels stuff, and while I've never played Hulk before, it looks like the perfect setup for a 40k fan who's far too busy with college to model and entire army and play fullsize games. That and, the models look AMAZING. I'm debating preordering this.

I mentioned him. He's in there.

Librarian.
Sergeant.
Heavy Flamer.
Assault Cannon.
Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield.
Lightning Claws.
Storm Bolter/Chainfist.
5 Storm Bolter/Power Fist.

The number if Storm Bolter Power fist is more of a Guess as the set has 12 Terminators, and after all the rest there's only 5 slots left.

Missed that. Nice!

They probably improved their mold cutting abilities more than the molding its self. I think GW see this as mostly a prestige thing than anything else. Its not every day one of their games reaches 20 years old. They probably also wanted to make it special enough that people who owned previous editions would have a reason to purchase this version. I have 40+ terminators already, but these are such a cut above them they're worth it.

Just pre-order it. If you don't you'll regret it when you get to the store and find that the after pre-orders your store only had 2 available and both were snatched up first thing that morning.

How much are people going to get for them? I see at least one selling for around 200$ .

It's interesting, because as of last week, trying to find a copy of the original SH would put you back about $350.00CDN... but checking this morning, it looks like everyone and their mama is looking to try to sell their old one, seeing it as a good opportunity. So if you're not interested in dropping big coin on the new one, you might b able to have a crack at an original copy - most of them seem to be under $70CDN at this point.

cortez wrote:I just came back from my local GW store and I was told there are only 25.000 copies worldwide and yesterday 2.500 were already sold.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than that. I got into my FLGS about 10 minutes after they opened yesterday to get them to order me one, and I was the 6th person on the list. Madness.

Wrexasaur wrote:Does that reflect on the integrity of the plastics though? I would like to get that commander mini, but I am not a huge fan of using colored plastic. Given GW's experience in plastics I am sure they figured out the best way to do this, and I am no expert to be sure. I would still expect a little loss of integrity perhaps on paranoia alone .

I suppose it does make complete sense from a marketing stand-point, but I am not sure how that reflects on the actual minis themselves. TBH I do not like colored plastic, but that has little to do with anything besides liking the color gray.

I don't think that it would be a problem adding a dye to the mix... What are the odds that they add a little bit of grey dye to the regular minis just go get them to be one flat colour, instead of some odd swirling mix to hide the inconsistencies?

Nothing worth winning ever came easy.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the purpose of the chainfist is? My 40k-ish mind automatically thinks anti-vehicle, so I'm curious what rules it has (or had in past versions) for SH.

In 1st Ed SH it was for cutting through bulkheads.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

It allowed the terminator to cut open a locked door. I maybe thinking of some optional rule, but I'm pretty sure thats what it did.

Lets back track a bit. If there are 5000 German copies (as has been definitively stated), constituting 1/3 of continental European sales. That means continental Europe should expect 15,000. The US and UK each have double the sales to Europe so 30,000 for each country. Asia/Australia/etc have half that of Europe. So abou 7500. Total based on German % of GW global marker, 82500 units. Assuming GW is fair like that.

95-100% The 5% is in the off chance GW orders their raw plastic with the dye premixed into the pellets.

I think it'd be interesting to come up with some rule variations for different chapters. I mean if the Dark Angels go into a spacehulk only one captain is going to lead terminators and that Belial. Myabe someone can write up rules for Lysander or Grymnar or Calgar or even Abadon and Typhus.

Huh.. I was in GW toulouse and took a few pics of the minis still unpainted. Should I upload them, as I didn't have the time (or the connection) to go through 16 pages of (probably) words of praise for fish food ?

You've got to be kidding. You think the 1st Edition basic grate tiles look better than 3D tiles with lighting effects? I bet you use green felt cut into shapes for trees too don't you?

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures.

Some moar pics. I'm sorry some of them are bad, I only had a compact and there wasn't much light (even though it was a painting table ) - besides I was in a bit of a hurry since I brought a lady friend along and the guys at the store were a bit too thrilled...

I handled them and the plastic seemed good enough, I didn't try to bend (or cut) and as I don't speak french I don't know if they feel cheaper while cutting, but for what I can remember I didn't see much flash (actually, none at all, but I wasn't paying attention and besides, they could've been cleaned up already).
