I'm really hoping this game does not make it big after hearing that. One of our club's members always shouts "money shot" when he rolls a ton of dice.

One thing about the scourge units, they look like they will be the easiest to paint. Drybrush those alien bad boys!

I probably won't get scourge though. I actually do like them but just like the other factions better.

If there's enough players at my store I'm likely to pick up both the PHR and Scourge forces.

I really want to paint the Scourge models in a black and green scheme.

Seems you're not the only one, just finished airbrushing the green onto one in the studio, todays job is highlights!

How do you think that glossy white was done?

Is it simly a matter of white paint airbrushed with gloss varnish or something?

GW has a brush-on gloss varnish (or had in the last version of paints). Just paint it up and then apply the varnish where you want it to be shiney. Or, you can get a spray can of gloss varnish from just about any hardware store that sells spray paints for probably the same price as a 1 little pot of GW paint.

I use generic Krylon gloss varnish spray for my alienids and it works great. If I get into this game I was gonna do that same army, and go with a purpleish-blueish color like the Covenant from Halo.

I assume the gloss white models were painted gloss white! Just very very neatly. All the peices so far have a very simple, but very well executed paintjob, the green on the UCM for example is only a flat colour, with a single step line highlight, but its execution, combined with the quality of the models carries it.

Yet another reason why I will buy the rulebook at least -- if nothing else than as a beautiful art book!

Hrm, I'm not sure which one I'd want to start. UCM scratches my GDI itch, while PHR scratches the mecha one.

Scourge and Shaltari just don't interest me.

The previews of the figures look great, I really like both the PHR and UCM.

It will really come down to the price for me and if anyone I know is interested too, because, unless the miniatures are very cheap, I won't be able to get two armies to start.

Dont want to go too deep into in on here as its a news and rumours thread, but the eyes are very much just base coated, still lots of work to go into all of the model, including alot more contrast. Might make a mini blog of the painting of them on our facebook page if theres enough intrest in the processes.

Several pages ago I said I was not interested in this game (I just don't like 10mm).

That has gone down the toilet.

Wow, he truly is a Renaissance man! His Shaltari are insane, but I actually like where your Scourge are going better. Thanks for the pic of the empty drop ship, too- we'd only seen it full, this is a lot clearer.
