What's Changed? - Rulebook

Well not a lot, really. We've just added a TONNE of new background information! Alongside some changes to a few special rules, this version of the Rulebook is a larger book than before, and it's chock full of Dystopian Age background on all eight factions.

If you've enjoyed games up until now, the new background information is bound to leave you itching to play, paint, and build even more. Perhaps you've always wondered how The Outlaws with their fiercely independent men and women came to be, or the reasons behind The Watchers choice to visit Earth and, even more importantly, why they now chose to stay.

Now's the time to delve deep and find the answers you've been looking for, and more...

What's Changed? - Special Rules and Cards

In this update, we've made a few changes to the Tough, Quick and the Dead and Stun special rules. We've also made some clarifications highlighted by members of our online community (yes that's you guys). Be sure to check these out when you download the latest version!

As we've updated the Rulebook; Unit cards, Faction Posse, Armoury cards, and Common Rules, now reflect the latest version as well.

You’ll notice that, on the new website, cards have been grouped by unit type under each faction, and the Outlaws have all been split up by affiliation. This means specific character cards are easier and quicker to find - we’re good like that.

Simply pick a faction to access all updated cards and click the character thumbnail to view the Unit card. Nice and simple.

Some information on older models, not necessarily good news:

WARCRADLE CLASSICS
Will unreleased Spartan Models which had renders and Dystopian Legions be amongst the classics released?

Anything that had a mould when we took over Spartan will be tested. If the mould is viable then we might be able to release that model as part of Warcradle Classics.

Also, some models are made up of parts from various moulds, so we have the massive tasks of finding multiple moulds for various parts and checking whether or not they are viable and then cast them. This is a long process and will take time to go through, however, we hope to have some items out in the next week or so.

Just to be clear, if there isn’t a mould it will not be on the list. If any moulds are damaged or have missing parts they will not be released as part of Warcradle Classics.

Models requiring metal or acrylic are less likely to be produced if we don't have the components.

A lot of the ships, like the ottomans had metal turrets so that's very sad news

As for good news:

I think the vast majority of ships had metal turrets. Certainly all of the Bretonnia I had had the same metal turret. One bonus is that as many of the turrets were the same through a faction the turrets should - in theory - have a viable mould in the pile

IT might just take them a long while to find it.

In the end if it proves hard I'd rather they focused on releasing the new models than wasting too much time on the classics. They can always return to look at the classics again in the future (in fact it might even do them well to get the new stuff out and release classics later when many of the market might be reinvigorated and interested. Right now I've a feeling that there's an almost litteral handful of interested people hanging on online for classic models)

There are hardly any DW model's which didn't have some metal component, I know any Prussian ships I've painted did, and all of the dreadbot's had metal add on's.
I think the covenant are the only faction I have that mostly have resin turrets.

I'm now worried that the bit's I need to finish my current fleets won't come up as part of the classic's line.

That chinese air craft carrier is so awesome I think I have to have it someday even though I have no earthly use for it.

The Raj destroyer is also very nice.

Great to see the classics coming out.

Love the balarina with blade feet - I'll need that at some point too.

The pricing seems very good on these. There's only one item I want on that list so will probably wait before placing an order but this is a good start by warcradle.

Worth noting that none of these have metal components so it seems that metal ships or ships with metal turrets will not be coming back.

Kyoto I think most of these are one mould castings which makes sense as when Warcradle got the moulds they basically got a pallet of jumbled up moulds (and from posts on the WC forums it seems the ID code software/library was either inaccessible/corrupted/damaged). So they have to work out what goes with what.

That said we might see them, a lot of ships shared the same turret in metal so in theory if they find the mould with the metal turrets then it should be fairly easy to case up provided they've got the metal casting facilities to spare.


Still it's great to see some warships in production once more

DARK NATION POSSE




The corruption of Walks Looking was the doorway to the tainting of the Warrior Nation. Ghost Wolf's daughter became tainted by The Hex and transformed into Wicasasni to become a twisted creature of malice and vengeance. Wicasasni took great delight in warping and corrupting the minds and bodies of her own people, creating a "Dark Nation".

Though Wicasasni was eventually captured by Ghost Wolf and the tainted aspect driven out, the wraith-like creature that emerged was just as deadly and even more malevolent than before. Walks Looking returned to her people with half a soul, the other half now sustaining her darker aspect that had been given independence in the exorcism. While Wicasasni can no longer warp the flesh of her followers she is still surrounded by twisted men and women who are the product of her previous corrupting influence. Khali, Camazotz, Seke and Nizhoni now work with Wicasasni and together the Dark Nation will tear down the world of humanity and remake it in their own image.

KAGA BROTHERS





The enemies arrayed against the Warrior Nation are many and powerful and the Great Spirit commands that they shun the use of the tainted technology from the Enlightened. Despite this limitation, the Warrior Nation make use of Gatling guns, heavy crossbows and other tribal weapons to destroy their foes, making up for a lack of such alien advantages with sheer heroism and faith in their traditions.

Those who follow the Brotherhood of Kaga have resigned themselves to the fact that they will likely die in battle. Their use of support weapons and close proximity to the most deadly of conflicts makes this a certainty. The Kaga Brothers have their funeral rites upon initiation and their ranks are filled with those seeking atonement or with nothing else to lose. ENLIGHTENED BRUTES





The ruthless pursuit of scientific progress can blind many to the moral questions raised by such progress. Such is the case with many of the creations of the Covenant of the Enlightened, Brutes being a prime example of this blindness.

Through the use of RJ-1027, the subject’s impressive frame has its musculature increased significantly and performance and strength are further enhanced with mechanical augmentations. The result is a hulking servant capable of wielding the heaviest firearms and able to fold sheet metal as if it were paper. Brutes are employed as enforcers, soldiers, and bodyguards by the Enlightened and have proven to be formidable in all these roles.

The Enlightened Brutes kit contains two multi-part resin miniatures:

1x Enlightened Brute with Flamethrower miniature
1x Enlightened Brute with Juiced Gatling Gun miniature
2x Bases.

HEXALITH





The energies of the Hex can be focussed and channelled in a number of ways, one being the creation of a Hexalith. These otherwise mundane objects have been imbued with the essence of the Hex and can be drawn on when needed to channel the extra-terrestrial power.

Hexaliths can be made from any material but many hours of care and focus are required to attune it to the other-worldly energies. The resultant effect often creates an object of strange and unsettling design directly from the tainted mind of the creator.

The Hexalith kit contains one single piece resin miniature:

1x Hexalith miniature
1x Base.
