I've decided to add this vehicle to the work-bench again... it's going to be one of the transports for the 'new' Squat army :

Fantastic build- a true 'land battleship'! Love the design departure from WWI meets Buck Rogers; this is really 'far future' stuff on treads, without being all "impractical machine with miraculous powerplant and invincible armor-y".

I like it.

Cheers @ Meer_Cat . I wanted to do something a little different but still end up with a bit of a Leviathan feel .

In other news, the last of the sculpts have arrived and they have been cleaned, based and primed . As a result, here's the whole company, ready for organising into units and then painting :

It's taken a long time but I've finally got the army together .

Cheers ... and yes, it is daunting. I certainly don't enjoy painting as much as I do sculpting... but I will need to muster my mojo so that I can finish the project .

In other news, some more of the Squats that I have sculpted have just gone up on Kickstarter (I get nothing from the sale or promotion of these)... so if you want to get hold of them, they can be found here :

I backed the campaign earlier this afternoon. Not so long ago I was lamenting the failure of GW to reissue any of the old squat or (as far as I know) Beastmen units- and then along came all your marvelous sculpts and I have just about compiled the scene from the picture on the cover of the old GW plastic Squats box- complete with (old school) Rhino and Commissar.

Great pieces and the new leadership team, medics and heavy weapons (with old school looking shoulder fired heavy weapons!) will round out the company very nicely.

(The figures are good enough and motivated me enough to want to paint that they jumpred the queue awaiting attention! )

@ Meer_Cat - Cheers ... I am really glad that they have got under your skin . When I sculpted the range, the "old-school" look of the original Squats was very much in my mind. I just wanted them to be more uniform and also a bit different (just a tiny bit different) so that's why they got berets .

As an aside, the Beastmen were converted from my sculpts by... ANOTHER SCULPTOR! so the heads and legs are nothing to do with me (and I wasn't told about it... ).

They look good though (although, I would have done them differently but ho-hum, eh?...).

So, I'm anticipating that the next thing coming down the pike is either upgraded/updated exo-armoured Squats or Hearth Guard on trikes with boom-shack-a-lakka sticks.... or both!

Astra Militarum don't have power armour or bikes... so your anticipation won't be rewarded. Sorry.

That said... I am hoping (at some point) to create exo armour but it won't be egg shaped. It'll be more 'functional' looking... but it is not planned for the near future. I have a couple of advisors and a small squad of close combat troopers (as a commission for the range, rather than something I want for my army).... then I want to make some beastmen .

Bikes are a bit too much of a stretch for me... they aren't just figures, they're more mechanical and not particularly easy to sculpt/create so I'd have to really be at a loss for something to do, to even think about that sort of thing :( .

As I have said before, I am making an army for me... the range is secondary.

I appreciate you responding back to a statement made in jest- and completely understand your reasoning. I kitbash and make things up from 'found bits', but don't sculpt. I've worked greenstuff a bit for very simple things- packs and tarps mostly- so can't imagine the skill to do figures. No worries all around.

I was never a big fan of the Killer Easter Eggs, for that matter. Liked the Hearth Guard only in that it was the only way to get a reasonable amount of movement out of a squat army. Otherwise, you equipped with missle launchers back when they had 72 inches of range, sat tight and blew things up until the enemy came to you.

Good luck assembling your army- I'll continue to support, as what you need for yours I reckon I'll need for mine.

Rock on!

These are brilliant, loving the Khorne conversions!

I have backed all of the Macrocosm KSes "all in" and am loving everything you send to them. So thanks for making these fantastic sculpts available to the wider public!

Thank you .

If I hadn't gone into a bit of a partnership with Macrocosm, I wouldn't have been able to generate the copies without paying through the nose... and as soon as I started posting pix, I knew people would want to buy them so I thought I'd let Macrocosm take the load of selling them, while I just focused on sculpting and building my little army .
