As a huge fan of WAB for years I am not suprised to see this happen but am very disapointed as honestly few systems out there match up to the quality and equal play as WAB did.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Well done GW.

WHH produced some of their best rulesets yet given how much disdain that GW have shown for the last few years(and the departure of Rick Priestly) this was only a matter of time.

Mmmhmm saddly WAB tourneys are frequent and big so this was rather stupid on their part.

melon-fether, I kept wanting to buy their Old West books but they kept reporting the core book as out of stock for well over a year now. Does this mean Warwick is out of a job now at GW? Or was his 1:35 WWII skirmish game self published?

I have one old west book, the core book, I bought it over a year ago when it came back in stock for a short time. The sad part is those old west books on amazon and on ebay will now skyrocket again to above $300 like they did 2 years ago. I wish I bought the Waterloo when I had the chance.

Seems odd that GW don't release their back catalogue at a nominal price on PDF, you can bet they have the files, it only needs a corner of their server, but hey who am I to make suggestions...

Heck, even GW proper has most of their 'other' games for free as a PDF in order to continue selling the models. But if FW doesn't sell historical miniatures then there is really no push for that.

Excellent, I can make a tidy profit on books I'm never going to use! Upside! :-)

That's a shame, but I'm not surprised that they'd shut down something that doesn't drive sales of their own miniatures. At least I got my new WAB rulebook before this happened.

Oh right, so that's why they are trying to shut down people trying writing any articles for the system then.

Not only do they cease publishing, but they kill off player support elsewhere. That's aggressive even by GW standards, usually they just let old stuff die a slow death.

The extraordinary thing is that KGN only came out a year ago.

I presume that GW saw WAB as a gateway into non-HHHobby games.

No, this is typical GW. They do that to all of thier fans/shills.

Sad though. I wasn't a player of these game books, but they were some very well written material. I liked thier Old West books for good reads.

Does anyone want to pool money together to purchase enough GW stock to become a major shareholder? Just so we can shake Kirby so hard his teeth rattle at the annual stockholder meeting?

Very well, they are an excellent WW2 ruleset.

Slightly annoyed that I didn't pick up Legends of the Old West and it's companions at Salute. I had. Thought that this was because they were to be rolled into FW since its mostly the same people but alas.

At least I got Legends of the High Seas a few years ago.

No more official KGN books.

Waterloo is an excellent book. One of the best if not the best rules book I ever purchased. Great eye candy, a lot of information and the game plays well. <-No, it's not a simulation it's a fun game.

Problem is he controls the majority of shares hence their is no way to pull a vote of no-confidence. The sad thing is had they put it out there for sale, the I.P and production rights I mean, it would have easily been purchased as I know of several companies in the past that wanted to buy it. Honestly this was a pretty dumb move on GW's part as even though thisdidn't support any singular game system of theirs, it was an easy sell. They write the book and that was it for the next few years.

The other problem is that you can only buy stock if it is offered for sale. And people buying stock in bulk tend to get noticed.

Shame to see it go but imo it was inevitable due to how little GW even acknowledges it

Personally I balked at paying £40 for a single rulebook for KGN but lots of people liked it and it got good reviews.

As somone who loves WAB it may seem costly but think of it like this. Unlike other gw games they produced one book every few years as opposed to a main book then five millions add ons so the initial cost was honestly worth while. Thankfully i got my antiquities book last month.
