Now that we've all seen the upcomming 'Summer of Flyers', I just was wondering if anybody else thinks the StormTalon looks as awkward as I do? I do however like some of the bits from it though. I think some conversion work will be a MUST with that kit. So far I've got in mind to kit-bash it with a land speeder for something like this...

What do you think? Got any ideas on how we can make this kit shine?

Hmm.. not a bad idea. Rather than using the regular speeder why not try a land speeder storm and fit weapon pods where the troop bay usually is. Using a normal speeder might fall foul of looking like a normal speeder just had random stuff bolted to the front of it. Also the Storm version has the extra engine at the back to make it supersonic.

I think a better body to use would be the land speeder tempest, but I like this idea and I could see it being used.

Personally, I laughed when I saw it, but I enjoy your take on the conversion aspect, it will be a nice kit for bashing, I can see me converting it into somewhat of a walking wolf if I mix it with a dreadnaught kit

A walker! Thats an awesome idea. Wouldn't be too hard to make it look like a Zentradi Battle-pod.

I'd stick Dreadknight legs on it instead of Dreadnaught legs if I was going for that look and money was no option

Yeah, adding more weapons is relatively easy, but you'd need another source of engine pods to make that conversion economically practical.

Fluffwise, such a conversion doesn't seem too silly - some distant forgeworld which already makes landspeeders has cobbled together a new variant which counts-as a StormTalon. Or perhaps such a conversion was even the prototype for a later standardised StormTalon? - I don't know what the official fluff says re their relative origins.
