Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

Ummm...somewhere...

G'day fellow dakkanauts!
So I was thinking, you know that one unit you always throw in your army list, they normally only cost around 100 points, and you don't expect them to kill anything nor survive for that matter, but you know your opponent can't ignore them, because they might actually do something!
I'm talking like 5 death marks, 5 wolf scouts with a melta gun, 3 reavers with a heat lance, that sort of thing!
So who loves them as much as I do? Ticking off your opponent with them always brings joy

- "Do not believe in me who believes in you, do not believe in you who believes in me, but believe in you who believes in yourself! DUMBASS!"
~Dark Eldar- Pirates of the Crystal Moon - 2400 points 38/15/4
~Pre-heresy Luna Wolves- WIP! (Probably gonna be a while)
~Recently sold sisters, GW ruined them for me their burning of xeno's will be remembered! (Friend bought them back for me, making them work, statement so far half stands after a lesson learnt)
~ SKAVEN - 1000 points and growing, just have assassinate a few warlords to get my way...need more cheese...

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

a BA scout squad with (4) sniper rifles, (1) ML, and camo cloaks all around.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

Dreads cost 105 before upgrades.

I'd have to say the Thunderfire Cannon. While it is fragile, it can be made more survivable with reinforced cover and from there it can shell the crap out of any infantry hordes I may encounter.

The most obvious example for this is probably Marbo, especially as he's only 65 points. Practically every time I make a list, there's a marbo-sized hole in it, and I usually have to work to exclude him from my lists.

For 100ish points proper, I think I agree that melta stormies are probably it for guard. Hydras would be it were it not for the fact that you probably already have your HS slots full and rough riders would probably be it were it not for the fact that nobody actually owns the models.

For CSM at the moment, it's obliterators. You basically can never have too many (well, until you hit 9 of them), and for only 75 points, why not chip in another?

This.

They are GREAT at claiming an objective with their 2+ Cover save when they G2G, since the rifles never wound, and the ML never hits.

Yeah I'd love this too if mine would stop going shooty crazy and killing my own guys...It's like he is mad at me for NOT giving him a big gun.

That said since this is favorite and not best...I'd go with a lascannon sentinel with a hunter killer missle. Just liked the look of it. I had one in my 1000 point IG and most times it missed or did nothing special and then there was games the thing just wouldn't die, and that lascannon hit the entire game...kinda miss trading it, but oh well.

the platoon command squad with 4 grenade launchers... 50pts, no one bothers them unless they're playing dark eldar (in which case they die first, as its a free pain token) or b)everything else is already dead.

the only time they ever do anything is in the turn before they die against DE, as the s6 krak grenades can hurt their silly little transports and instagib the archon. Unfrotunately, the turn before they die against DE is usually the deployment phase.
