What is the least used army? I'm guessing sisters of battle.

"Archon Yulliptidon sat apon a throne made of polished glass, which gleamed with magnificence in the rays of the dying suns, beautifully suspended above the the many razor sharp peaks that where Commorragh. The archon held within his hands a a delicate pyramid of sculpted crystal, from which emitted a faint glow, an echo of the soundless screams of pain belonging to countless tortured souls forever trapped within. The room in which the archon sat in was something like a throne room, but displayed apon the walls where helm of every color, but all the same in size and shape. Some bore eagles on their foreheads, and others still contained the decapitated heads of their previous owners. Two huge, beautifully carved iron double doors, engraved with intricate runes of pain and suffering, opened at the far end of the room, to reveal a tall, elegant dark eldar warrior, clad in armor made from bone and flesh. "lord Yulliptidon, you asked for my presence?" Said the arrival, " to what do I owe the pleasure?". The archon raised his elongated head, skin as pale as a full moon, eyes as vivid as a horrible nightmare. " I did not ask for you, Thrayon, I ordered your presence. Do not think to much for your self, for truly, you are not much past a feral that one would find on the streets. As for why I have ordered you to my palace, it is because their is a task that I wish you to preform. I wish you and you kabal to cleanse the imperial out fort of Sargosain Gastienagan." Thrayon was both aghast and interested at what the archon had just said. "Such a task would stretch my kabal to its limits, only a great reward would be enough to do a deed like this." Yulliptidon was outraged by the the proposal of a "great reward" by Thrayon, but did not let his anger show, hiding it with a cold smile that hid his evil intentions surprisingly well. The archon was was famous for never telling a lie in his life, but was very fond of veiled double speak, and this was no exception. "Do not worry, Thrayon, you shall receive what you deserve." Thrayon, happy with this outcome, left to carry out Yulliptidons task. Little did he know what was coming. Thrayon had done a thousand evil deeds, and what he deserved was a horrible death equal to to all those he had caused. Yulliptidons smiled. He was going to have fun."

You're probably correct there, given the expense and difficulty of getting enough models for a decent sized force.

Until the new Codex for them dropped, I'd only ever seen a single Dark Eldar army. I've also only ever seen a single Sisters of Battle army, and it wasn't very big...

I'm about the only dark eldar player i know of anywhere close to me, but is is rumored that a hermit who lives high in the suburbs has a 6000 point DE army.

Sisters, which I play.....
If we're talking 'main' armies. I would say Tau, which I play...
There were more Sisters armies at Adeptacon than Tau and Nids.

"Suffering is Faith, Faith is Strength.

Generations have suffered with the same devotion that we can offer but once. Still, our Faith leads us through these dark times like a beacon. It will guide us to triumph over these abominations. Either by breaking them upon us like waves against a limitless, golden peak or by thrusting through them like the spear of the Immortal Emperor Himself." - Cannoness Aoife, Order of the desert rose #Yesallwomen

The new Nids codex turned a lot of old-guard Nids players off like a switch, myself included, so they are rarer to see where I play, though there are a couple still.

Daemons players are getting rarer, mainly thanks to the GK i think. It's a rare thing to see a Daemons army these days at a tournament, at least around here. YMMV of course

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Yeah, I'd say sisters, tyranid, and demons sit at the bottom of most popular armies. Sisters because they're old, nids and demons because they have awful fluff, and all three because they're not terribly competitive at the moment.

The dark horse I'd like to put into this is space marines. Yes, power armor is everywhere, but I've only scarcely ever seen actual codex marines before. Usually when someone starts a marine army, it's blood angels or grey knights or space wolves (or deathwing, or even templar, etc.). I think I can count the number of games I've played against plane-jane codex marine armies on one hand.

Id say Dark Angels. I have never seen a Dark Angels army at all. I saw one on MWG in a Batrep but they were painted as UM so they dont count.

DA, Nids, Sisters and Tau are currently the least played armies currently, as far as I'm aware, probably with Daemons, but whatever.

DA only has 2 builds that can actually put up a decent fight, and Jervis nerfed 'em hard. My Deathwing are hoping for that 6th Ed Codex.

Nids are generally uncompetitive. End of. 1 transport, only MCs, they've been treated harshly.

Sisters have been decimated. They've been reduced to a White Dwarf minidex, and all their models are metal. This deters new blood (but brings a goddam ton of hipsters).

Tau is just a tragedy. They're overcosted, underpowered and incredibly limited in tactics.

Daemons are still competitive, but a lot of players have been screwed over by the GK Codex.

Didn't think of that! I'm sure at the time of the codex's release the numbers were a lot higher, but armies switched over to counts-as Space Wolves or Blood Angels as those codices came out. Out of all the Marine codices, the only one that probably gets less play is Dark Angels.
