Assuming 6th is coming out soon, which looks very likelyy now the 5th ed rulebook is off the website, how much will the big hardback rulebook cost? I am running.low on cash but want to set away enough to buy it ASAP when it comes out.

50-75 USD is my guess. They'll probably have a collectors edition for 100 USD.

To post something serious.
I will only buy the small rulebook from the starter set. For me it's a tool that enables me to play the game. I don't need a big ass hardcover monstrosity. There is only so much weight I feel comfortable to carry around in my backpack when I go to play a game.

For fluff and pictures I have plenty of other sources.

Why?
5ed rulebook is only 50 mb.

Its probably going to cost around 70 dollars which is a huge rip off imo....I don't see why they think a large crowd would pay that much for a book that should be at most 40 bucks.

It contains only the rules. That's all I need.

You don't look at the fluff or the cool pictures in the back?

And I think it'll be £45, same as the fantasy one

I get the fluff I'm interested in out of my codices, and for pictures I have the white dwarf and the internet. That's all I need.

In my opinion the rules should be free anyways, because the game of Warhammer 40k is the only reason I buy multiples of a certain unit. Otherwise I would just pick up some things that aesthetically please me and build/paint them.

In the region of £50 to £60. Easily.

I'll wait for the mini one that will *hopefully* come out with the 6th ed. starter.

Guessing 85 USD. For the big book. With all the price increases, it will be higher than ever before, even though it cost the same, or less to produce than previous editions.

Has anyone heard of a limited edition release, and if so, linky???

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

No word on it whatsoever. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a nicer edition that cost $100-$150 though. Fantasy had a $125 special edition, but it was just a numbered copy with a special cover and junk.

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause.
