I was looking at a thread in this forum about modeling a rhazorback with the turret forward for an advantage was against the rule. I have all 3 of my LRs with their turret forward to the first slot (saw it on page 83 in the SM codex) doing that wouldn't be breaking the rules, I really think it looks cool. Its totally legal, I mean it is pictured in the SM codex for the thing. Come to think of it, would I have any problems disembarking with 10 sternguard or would I just put them around the guns? Oh and what would you reccomend, guns forward or back? Thanks in advance!

There are two options for where to place your side sponsons/doors on a Land Raider. Its up to you where to put them. Most folks model their LR Crusader or Redeemer with the sponsons to the front, so that they can maximise range. It doesn't matter so much with TL Lascannons cos their range is adequate. The only issue you might experience is when you go to disembark, especially with a LR Redeemer. It can be hard to fit all your models (14 iirc) within squad coherency and not blocking your flamestorm cannons. A template weapon cannot be placed over a friendly model (unless it scatters there) so it can be hard to position it right.

The modelling of Razorbacks is players trying to get a cheap extra 1" of range, but on a Land Raider its perfectly legit.

Templates never scatter. Blast Marker's do, however, you may not initially place them so they cover friendly models.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I would tend to put the guns in the forward mounts anyway as its mentally retrograded to have your infantry disembark in front of the vehicle weapons

And it looks better.

If anyone complains, point out that the previous box for the current LR model had the guns mounted forward on the cover art.

People complained about the razorback because he did it in order to gain an extra inch of range. Modelling for advantage is mostly about intent.
