So, with lack of people to play due to working overnight I have decided to conduct my own battle against myself with the first golden throne scenario. Lists will be posted at 9 am this morning pst. Both armies enter, but there can be only one! Who will stand victorious and emerge through the pile of the corpses?

Need lists to decide, but if the angel list is good, wraiths always have issues with tons of fnp marines

Oh, yes my angel list is VERY good, or at least it should be good enough to give my wraithwing a lot to think about as I have already beaten Tyranids with it before. Between FNP, furious charge and the +1 attack from sanguinor I think my wraithwing are going to have a really tough match ahead. Its not pure DOA, but it has almost everything possibly deep striking in if taking the first turn. This will put my skills and luck with both my armies to the test, but I definitely feel it will be an uphill battle for the Wing.

Angel list looks ok, ill give it to them. As long as the angels get the charge it can go either way (probably wouldn't deep strike against the wraiths as it would be hard to ds out of range)

I've played against FNP assault BA before. Wraithwing should get the win unless they let BA get all the charges off.

It can definitely go either way, the main threats the Necrons will have to address are the Sanguinary priest and the Sanguinor. Sanguinor will probably take out the CCB if I let him get too close, and 1 assault marine squad has a high potential to wipe a wraith squad with furious charge and 2 melta guns. If
I roll lucky with a CCB sweep attack and hit the priest, the FNP Furious Charge will not be a threat anymore. This game is probably going to come down to luck, but I'll just have to see tomorow.

hmmm.... I don't know about the Vanguard Veterans, but I hope and think the Blood Angels will scrape to victory

Well, this game was played after working a 10 hour shift overnight, so Im not really satisfied with the results. My Iphone died so I had no idea how to play the scenario and just went for kill points. Luckily I had a camera to take pics of the game. A few of my tactics for both sides worked, but there were several things I was planning to do with both armies that I spaced on. Time to pass out, Im not satisfied with the results so this BR will be a 3 game one. Next week will be game 2 with battle report on Saturday again. I will be posting the Battle Report from today Saturday night, as I am getting ready to go camping.

I've never seen BA scout bikes in action, but I've never seen anything particularly redeeming about them, and I've only ever heard bad things.

The blood angel list seems to be packing a lot of non-troop choices that don't really add much to the army it wasn't already doing pretty capably. I worry about how much ground it can cover with it's small FNP bubble and how much it has to invest in de-meching things. Much fewer charges if you are gunning down transports. I'm not sure it's a list I'd be excited to bring to a tournament, but I'm also pretty bad.

Necron list has a lot of actions per turn, but it relies heavily on weight of attacks, which is not really fun against 3+ and FNP. Also woefully low on scoring units and few ways to protect them besides tying everything up. Seems like it might do that well though. I've seen wraiths do some nutty things, and destroyer lords and CCBs have way more impact on the battle field than one might think.

This one is hard to call. I hate the scoring unit count, so I'd have to say BA.

I'm sure you know what a pain it is killing transports in close combat. What makes this list so attractive to you?

Ya, it was a long, dragged out battle. I want to play best of 3 though, because I mis-estimated some movement and it did not become one sided, until turn 3. Game 2 might have some list tailoring for both sides. I really havent had any trouble popping transports with either list, the main problem is anything over armor 11 I struggle against. That is why I take Meltas only with BAs and take warscythe leaders for necrons with shackle scarabs.
