I played my SW against Necrons last night. When I cast JotWW against his wraiths, he allowed me to draw the line but when it came time for him to make his initiative test, he replied that wraiths are immune to JotWW because they are not Jump Infantry and not Infantry. I let him have it, but later I looked it up. In my codex it says

"...Monstrous creatures, beasts, cavalry, bikes and infantry models that are touched by this line must take an initiative test. If the model fails the test, it is removed from play. .."

(emphasis added by me)

So my question is this...Is Jump Infantry a subset of Infantry?

Go Dakka!

No it's not. Jump infantry are immune to Jaws. If they were a subset, they would be listed under infantry. Take jetbikes for example. It is a subset of bikes and is listed under bikes.

That is correct, only the unit types listed by jaws can be effected by jaws.

At least tau battlesuits are safe from jaws, now for dealing with those 15 damn missile launchers...
