So I just built up my ork bommer in a way where it could be used as any one of the 3 planes. I'm curious what the best would generally be. I know that there is that other thread, but it seems more of a discussion of survivability than tactics. I was thinking hold back the plane,(whichever one it may be), in reserve and then bringing it in when his reserves come in. Any tips?

For the burna i would keep it in reserve, and then zoom on and fire all the rokkits at once at a nice exposed non-vehicle unit.

It works great on warbiker mobs

Same tactic i use with my Razorwing.

Dump all your missiles on some unfortunates, dealing heaps of hits, then zoom around gunning stuff down..

I think the burna is a lackluster unless you are tailoring against nids, orks or guard. Even then, 10 points per skorcha rokkit is way to expensive.

The dakkajet seems awesome at killing transports and infantry in general, the blitza bommer is a pretty reliable anti-tank tool until he dies. As you can switch between the two, just try them both and see which one works best for you.

I just tried out the dakka jet and I like what it can do. It was Ork VS. Ork and my dakka jet used its pinning rule to succesfully pin a squad of 20 Ard' boys, which allowed me to get closer and assault 1st! Does the dakka jet get the 4+ from RPJ since it moves over 12 inches?

The person told me even if they are fearless they have to take the test...guess he was wrong!

Has anyone tried ramming a tank with a Dakkajet moving flat out?

Assuming you go the full 36in, it's a surefire S12 (S10?) hit. Enough to send a Land Raider to meet his Omnissiah...

I've got a game tomorrow night. My orks versus Tau. Don't know if my opponent will be bringing heavy armor, but I think I'll be giving this 'tactic' a try.

lol, I hadn't actually thought of that...kinda expensive for missiles, tho

I so want to see a batrep now of dakkajets just zipping around and ramming into everything that moves, totally forgoing shooting

I learned this a few week back, only a tank can ram

Correction: Only a vehicle with a Reinforced Ram can ram.

Take the dakkajets and use two warpheads, two re-rolled attempts to get waaaghs every game turn. Seems pretty good. Who doesn't want 54 twin linked bs 3 (at least) str 6 shots per round?

Wishful thinking about ramming.

If it makes up for it, i run enhanced sails and shock prows on my DE raiders.
Once the dark lance on them gets destroyed they just get a run up and get launched at anything with an AV.

Its hit or miss, but funny none the less and has won me a game or 2

Agh... There goes my Deff Skwadron-inspired dream of kamikaze flying deffrollas. Thanks for clearing that up, guys.

So the moral of the story is, if you want flying antitank, pay for a Blitza-Bomma. Anyways, back to the drawing board...

Remember with the blitza: roll two 1s, it literally goes kamikaze on the enemy.........even thought you lose the plane, rolling two 1s seems very good for what it does.

Blitza bommers will ram the opponent on a 3 or 4, too, and it even works against MCs

I believe that any vehicle can RAM, it's just that only Tanks and vehicles with a Reinforced Ram can Tank Shock. Big difference there.

Ramming is a form of Tank Shock!, which only tanks can perform unless there's wargear allowing it(like Reinforced Ram or Shock Prow I think. Not too familiar with DE). Page 68 and 69.

What I did was to build it as a kind of 'dakka-burna' with a turret, two twin-linked supa shootas , burna bombs and six skorcha rokkits. launch all the missiles and bombs to blow his infantry to hell and back, then gun down anything that still twitches...

At the same time? Or in two different games?
