As the title suggests I'm looking for the most reliable and cost effective place to buy some Privateer Press minis from, preferably online as I'm based in a small town in the UK.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated as this would be my first time dabbling in miniatures other than Games Workshop!

If you have FLGS that stocks their stuff then buy it from them. Keep the flame alive.

I got some of my stuff from Wayland and from Gifts for Geeks. Both were excellent.

Also, there are a LOT of ebay stores. I usually start there.

Discountgamesinc.com is simply the best, hands down.

Maelstrom Games, though with any of the online stores I'd make sure the item is in stock before ordering.

Based on reputation, that goes at least triple for Wayland...

Firestorm Games are also good. If you live anywhere near Mansfield (Maelstrom's HQ) or Cardiff (ditto Firestorm) I know Maelstrom has great gaming spaces and hear Firestorm has it too. Or pop by Mansfield during the WM/H European Team Challenge in July (6-7-8 July, Maelstrom in Mansfield) - 240 players and perhaps a couple of hundred spectators as well. Open bar...

I buy mine from miniwargaming on account of the fact that my FLGS can't keep a complete stock of everything. Otherwise, buy from your FLGS.

I'm praying for a cool weekend - that, or Maelstrom will have fitted some air-con, as it has gotten mighty warm there the last two years...

I dunno, Maelstrom is very good if you order something that actually is in stock. If you order something that's not in stock, less so.

Wargamestore is pure awesome though. Cannot recommend them enough.

Amazon.com seems to have pretty competitive prices.

I'd agree with Grim on this - and that why I said you should check the stock levels before ordering.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Took a trip to firestorm games today and picked up a Trollblood battlegroup to try out! Keep an eye out in the painting and modelling forum to see how I get on!

In the US, Miniature Market shows stock levels / won't let you order more than is in stock.

I would say use Firestorm Games, I have never had any problems and the service is fantastic.

Also Marquee Models in Harlow as it is my local shop, his stock is not great but you will get great service.

firestormgames.co.uk Massive stock in their store and they get regular deliveries with great customer service. Never had a problem when ordering PP stuff from them even when stuff is on the backlist

And of course, you can try the Dakka Swap Shop or Bartertown if price is key, as opposed to a local store..

I've had very good experience with these guys.
Though they did screw up a book delievery once, it arrived in a small box that had been battered by the postal service and damaged the book.
Not really their fault but the box could have been sturdier.

One thing to also remember, which I am sure you do, is that while some stores initial cost is cheaper the shipping may get you.

To date, Miniaturesmarket.com always gets my vote because they give you the best price, including shipping, out of any of the other places I have been.

Another question for you fine folk seeing as you relay helped me out last time! I find myself in bournmouth and was wondering if any of any FLGS in the area, would like to pick up some more w/h. Picked up a cygnar battle box from firestorm and well thee bug has caught! Want to try and get hold of the 2 player starter kit if I can!

I would just buy off of eBay. AFAIK, there is only one LGS in my city that carries warmahordes, and 99% of their stock has Mk I cards (so old that they have yellow/tan foam inserts), and it can easily take a month for something to come in through an order.

Whereas on ebay, I was able to get a colossal for $85 and have it at my house three days later.

Dicount Games Inc & Miniature Market are both amazing.

You can find some crazy deals on Amazon sometimes. Especially if you have Prime for free 2 day shipping.
