Thoughts? I'm pretty stoked about these, although £25 seems a bit much for two models, cheaper than Finecast I suppose.

Hm... seems like it would be easy enough to file the Ultramarine nonsense off, swap the head on the sword dude for a bearded head, swap the banner icon for a Wolf head...

Yes... yes, they'll do nicely for Wolf Guard or Grey Hunters...

The models are nice, but, meh - there's not really a good reason to run Captains or Chapter Masters unless you're proxying them as a Special Character. They're nice models and I can see converting the Captain to a Librarian like I did with my Sicarius model, but I wouldn't have a place for them in a list.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

I'm actually incredibly impressed; they look like they're wearing proper heavy armour, despite it only being power armour.

I really like well done Marines that aren't just overblinged. These guys manage to look like decorated veterans without being utterly overladen with bling and chains and all the other icons that show up on veteran Marines. I like them a lot.

What's nice is that they can fit in with any army.

Even with the headcrests.

I'm all for more MK IV stuff, but I'd like it a little plainer than this. Removing the Greco-Roman bits and cloaks just looks like way too much hassle to bother here. Perhaps a sprue rather than two solid models would have been a better idea?

Now we just need a generic MkIV Techmarine and Company Champion.

Why do they have an ultra marines banner. But salamander shoulder pauldrons? Am I missing something or mistaken here?

You're mistaken and missing something.

These are generic Mark IV "Maximus" armoured Astartes. The only iconography on these individuals is an eagle's head on the shields mounted to their pauldrons.

Those specific pauldrons are the ones which go to the Maximus armour. Not sure why you're thinking they're related to Salamanders...
The banner is blank. It has an eagle on one specific part of it, but otherwise there is nothing tying any of these models to a specific allegiance.

In addition to what Kan said, the only U shape of the laurel on top of the banner, but that doesn't always equal Ultramarines.

I don't like the bird's head on the shouler thingies as that makes me think of Raven Guard or something similar, but that's easy enough to replace with the blank Terminator shoulder thingies.

I see it and keep thinking it's the Raptors' chapter symbol.

And being that they're a Raven Guard successor, looks like we're on the same wavelength.

You're probably right.

My point was that was the only part that looked chapter-specific to me.

Reminded me of the Raptors badge.

Why are there only two pictures of the captain but six of the standard bearer?

Really nice sculpts and the captain is just distilled awesome, standard bearers never really set my boat afloat though. But add the MkIV apothecary and you're going to have the makings of a really nice command squad.

Gorgeous! I'd actually prefer to take off the standard bearer's right hand and turn him into a captain. Nonetheless, do want, DO WANT.

Not a fan of that armor style, but FW does do nice minis, and those are no exception. If I super-expand my army (to the point where I want a second CMD), I might pick those up...

I didn't say they weren't good sculpts, they are well done models. It's just that they are what they are, a couple of Space Marines in relatively relaxed/static pose with some Roman looking stuff tacked on, and SM fashion accessories just don't do it for me anymore, especially not month after month after month.

It might be one thing if they had a decent amount of other stuff in between the 'make your marines look slightly different' stuff , or if they actually looked significantly different (e.g. Krieg vs Catachan vs Elysian) but they don't.

Although I'm not a fan of the helms, I really like this pair. Shadelkan had it right when he commented on the heavy look of the power armour - lovely stuff.

If only I didn't already have a converted command squad for my guys ...
