I don't love the one on the standard bearer, but I really like the one on the captain.

Very cool looking models, especially the captain. Hopefully the chunky scibor-ish Minotaur character look was just a one time thing if these and the apothecary releases are any indication. (yes, I know the sculptors are different but even the Minotaur sculptor's previous works weren't chunky).

edit: It's also interesting to note that it's now cheaper to buy a resin marine standard bearer and captain from Forgeworld than it is to buy one from GW's finecast line... and that's not assuming you're down under but also true in the US and UK!

Warboss, are you referring to the spear wielding Ivanus Enkomi?

You mean Asterion Moloch. Ivanus Enkomi is the chaplain with the powerfist and huge ass crozius arcanum.

Really wish the leather studded loincloths were seperate bits, and an alternate arm was provided for the "commander" as those two pieces make the model look too greco-roman minotaur/ultramarine for me.

Eye of Terra.

I'll buy these because I'm a fan boi with disposable income, but the barehead looks out of proportion and makes the body look stumpy... well, more stumpy considering the GW design ethic.

Not-to-mention, everything is so thick, it makes the crest on the helm carried by Ol' Stumpy look like a scrub brush...

I love the look of these guys, and by lopping the hand off of the Standard bearer he can quite easily become a different captain/sergeant stand in with minimal conversions. Since the GW kit for captains has now hit £14 for one kit (admittedly with alot of options), these two for 25 actually comes across as fairly reasonable for the level of detail involved.

The Apothecaries and now these two have me anxiously awaiting a snazzy FW take on the Techmarine soon for a nice generic Master of the Forge. Great models and if I have the spare around my birthday I'll be picking these up.

You are absolutely right. I always get Moloch/Enkomi mixed up.

Shows how much attention I pay to Space Marine releases that don't involve the Unforgiven.

I realized one was in termie armor but didn't realize it was tartaros as that came out a few months later. I was more referring to the chaplain. Either way, I'm glad these models don't share the same proportions and loadouts that made the Minotaur ones look too chunky for me. FW has come out with some really good designs over the years and I'd definitely classify these two newest greco-roman additions as such.

The barehead only looks out of proportion compared to a plastic version because the plastics have their head sculpted to be the same size as the helmet. Go grab some extra bits and check it out for yourself.

The great thing about Forgeworld is that they do proportions correctly for the most part, so heads look like they could actually fit inside a helmet instead of maintaining the heroicly proportioned head nonsense GW proper does for Marines. I get the reason why GW does it(so unhelmeted figures don't look like pinheads next to helmeted ones), but it still bugs me and is the reason why I minimize usage of unhelmeted heads for my marines or try to not use them altogether.

If you look at the two figs in the side by side photo, the bare headed one has a larger head and a larger helmet than the other! and i don't think it's just a perspective issue either.

The Captain is pretty cool. Not exactly enamored with the Standard Bearer. The best thing about the Captain is the expressive face that has a ton of character to it. You usually don't see this level of quality on Space Marines, even from Forge World.

I want to like them. Really I do, they are just a little too static for me. Perhaps with a little converting I can make them more to my liking. Chances are I will end up buying them anyway!

I hope they release command sets for the other armour marks, maybe even some special characters although they will probably come along later if this HH rumour turns out to be true.

There aren't any ultrmarines stuff on them. They have raptors / consuls iconography instead.

It mentions them as "multi-part" and says that it "allows you to build" them. That makes me think that they could be easier to convert than they look? One we get a parts breakdown, I'll decide if DO WANT or if SORT OF WANT. That Captain with reposed legs, the Standard Bearer's head, and a right arm with the Cadian Heavy Flamer could make an excellent basis for a Vulkan He'Stan Count-As.
