I thought it would be fun to run through all of our favorite tricks and strategies from the fifth edition era.
Or not. Whatever.

Melta spam (whilst I love it, It gets boring fast. Please 6th, take us away from melta/ML!)
Mech (I like mech armies. I really, really, really hope that 6th makes other types much more viable, or nerfs mech so its not so necessary)
Slingshot special weapons (moving 12"+Disembark to fire multiple flamers/plasma/meltaguns. It was fun when people weren't expecting it, or if you slingshot a target they weren't expecting you to hit)

QFT. I was at Kingdomcon this year and I pulled this against an IG player that took 3 vendettas ( but expected...) AND 6 (not a typo) Russes.... (major ). He forced himself off the objectives for some goddamn reason and I had 2 marines that were falling back rally and contest the objective that decided the game. Had the game go on, he would of had 3 Russes and all his Vendettas (damn things don't know how to take a lascannon to the face) have to force exactly 2 marines off the only thing that kept him from winning the game. But the game ended so HA!

True! I definitely will not miss late game objective sneaking and wound allocation shenanigans. If anything, I hope the 'cinematic wound allocation' rumor proves to be true!
Oh, and I do really enjoy pulling dudes off objectives with a suicide assault.

I really enjoyed chaining together three or four units in a multi-assault and killing Hive Tyrants through obscene combat resolution scores.

DE - Crippling shooting and assault. If I took too much damage early on in objective games, I can always throw away infantry and use the skimmers to move block + contest. Sure, lots of games were won in other ways, but using skimmers to contest made some otherwise lost games won.

Okay, my Falcon has no weapons left, nothing inside, and has Holofields... That tank is ~18-24" or so away from me, and i'm able to move...
"Okay, i'm going to ram your tank."

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Hahaha, yeah I hope we get some new tank ramming rules. As a csm player obsessed with berserkers, I really abused the crap out of landraiders to trash rhinos and razorbacks so my crazed little red dudes could eat the folk inside.
But really, 5e is all about late game play, thanks to the random game length and objectives only matter at the end garbage... So it's not unusual to keep your faster vehicles out of harms way until the very last minute.
I'm a big de-meching player; Ill make questionable plays early on just to make sure that I'm crippling mobility... I dont like running a lot of vehicles myself (mainly because I suck at painting them), so I always squeeze a few extra anti vehicle solutions into my lists. Not surprisingly I don't have the best record against infantry based armies.
