I'm working on a unit of Orcs for a friend and wanted to add bits from other races, sort of like the Orcs looted it off corpses. I know it's OK in 40k, but was wondering if it was ok in WHFB. Thanks!

I think you can get away with pretty much anything in WHFB as long as your opponent knows. There's a short piece in the Lizardman book about how one Slann captured and lobotomized humans and he uses them as some kind of weird zombie help. So you could concievably have human models in a Lizardman army.

I mean you can fluff a reason for just about any models co-existing. Orcs grabbing stuff doesn't require any stretching.

Of course it's ok. Looting Orcs are awesome, and I even got my own unit of looters that are count-as Black Orcs!

I have a NG unit with tons of empire stuff. Hats, feathers, swords, standards, drums and all. Looks great.

Orks can loot anything, even pigs
But on a serious note, things like weapons and armour being looted would be common place in any army that isnt disciplined.
Orks will pick up a dwarf axe or some empire armour, but a chaos warriors more than likely wouldnt unless he needed a weapon for whatever reason.

Also, would add more character to orks.

Ogre's got some sweet quality items that fits Orcs really well, even the weapons! I use a lot of Ogre bits to make my Orcs look a little more unique. So yeah, just throwing out some ideas.

I'm pretty certain that piece is to provide fluff grounding for the lobotomised human slaves in the 3rd ed Slann list (like these guys: http://www.solegends.com/citc/wd96slannwizard8712.jpg)

OP: Don't feel like GW, or even the hobby community at large, have any right to dictate how you model your army. You can model orc heads on elves with beastmen allies and as long as what everything represents rules-wise is clear, all anyone can do is furrow their brows in lore-dissonance.

If an orc sees something he likes he'll take it, unless a bigger orc gets there first.
