In the Wasteland

Thracia, a world covered in vast oceans and great forests. It's people live an agricultural life, industry only just taking place on the planet. It's main industry is the manufacturing of lasguns, flak armor, and any other equipment needed to raise an Imperial Guard Infantry Regiment. Thracian's live a rough life, they work and live in the forests, or sweat in the newly founded factories. The Thracian are a great sea faring folk, as well as being able to raise solid Infantry regiments camouflaged in the color's of their home world.

Once enlisted for the Guard, voluntarily or not, They never see their home world again. Except for the Color Guard. After the regiment is retired from duty, a small contingent of the regiment gets cycled back to it's home world, forming a new Regiment. The Color Guard ensure that the new regiment's fit and able to fight the enemy of mankind.

Hi there

This blog will be be dedicated to the world Thracia, my take on some fluffy wargaming with it's Imperial guard and internal strife within the hives and wastes.Hope you enjoy Major RacineFox Company's 1st platoon commander, Lieutenant O'HerronMajor Racine overseeing a maneuver of a portion of 1st platoon Riflemen. I will try to update this blog regularly, and I might write up battle reports of I ever get to taking these miniatures to the field. More fluff will follow later, when I get another burst of Inspiration.Your loyal servant, General Scraza, Supreme Commander of The Thracian Guard.

In the Wasteland

Hi there.

I've come up with a 600 Guard point list. It's not really competitive, I like to play fluff-wise, and just for fun than WAAC.

Here's the list, please let me know what you think. I'm not sure about the veterans though. I want them to keep the camocloaks, but then it would be a better idea to ditch the melta guns and flamer for more long range firepower, like 3 sniper rifles.

The idea of this army is to either form a static gun line, with the sentinal and roughriders holding back to plug possible holes in the gunline when assaulted, or just have them all move forward to capture objectives. The sentinal and Rough riders will contest enemy objective, trying to clear away the defenders until I get my infantry up close. Those various grenades are to attack light vehicles in close combat should shooting fail.

So, what do you think?

HQ
-Company Command Squad
Power weapon, meltabombs, bolt pistol
regimental flag
meltagun
1 Bodyguard

Troops
-Veterans
2 melta guns
flamer
forward sentries (camocloaks and snare mines)
power weapon

-Platoon

1 Platoon Command
meltabomb
Krak grenades
Heavy flamer
Meltagun

3 infantry squads
grenade launchers

Fast Attack
Scout sentinal
Autocannon
Hunter killer missile
Camo netting

5 Rough riders
Power weapon

There may be a lot of mistakes in this list, but that's why I put it up here.

Thanks Brymm! I appreciate it.

It's been a long time since I posted something. Exams got in the way. But with holidays started, I'll have much more time on my hands.

I finished painting a basilisk, Now I only have to paint the crew. I also started work on another squad of guardsmen, but they're still in their early stages. I also went to my local shop and bought a heavy weapons squad. I'm thinking of making them autocannons. Any thoughts on that.

Here's the basilisk.

Hi everyone. I got some updates for you. I finished another IG infantry squad.

I also dug up one of my old Griffons. I got 2 of 'em. I'd like to have your opinion if the green I used is good enough to use for the whole tank. Or should I stick with the catachan green from the basilisk?

Mind, the green on the tank's not done yet, it's just a base color. I'll try to weather and highlight it if I end up painting the whole tank in that color.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like your army is coming along nicely!
Your colour scheme is very cool, and some of the kitbashing looks pretty awesome!
Looking forward to more!

I hope to finish some more real soon.
I'm thinking of kitbashing some 'traditional' Thracian. I'll use Empire militia and Guardsmen kits to make the conversions work. I'll probably make a platoon of about 25 men, with El Rahem to lead them. I Haven't come up with a good unit name, but I want something along the lines of them being traditional woodland folk. Any Ideas? Fluffwise and modelwise ideas would be very helpful.

Sounds nice!
Perhaps those 'traditionals' are from the much more rural areas of the Thracian planet.
Maybe their isolation causes them to rely upon more basic and primitive equipment, as they are cut off from the main supply chains.
That is what first comes to mind.
Good luck with any future projects!

Exactly what I was thinking. I'll be giving most of them Lasguns though, but their look has got to be more rural. I hope to start on this project as soon as possible. (read, when I have enough money to buy Empire militia, 2 guardsmen boxes and a platoon command box )

In the Wasteland

No I'm not dead, school just started, 's all. I'm back with a quick batrep. Sort off. Me and Hendaron played a game last sunday, but we used the old rules.

I got a kitted up ccs, Stormtroopers, a leman russ, scout sentinal, rough riders, veterans in Chimera and one infantry platoon of 35 men and 3 lascannons. I came out at 1000 points.
Hendaron used space wolves, and had some thundercav, normal wolfs, commander on thunderwolf, and some footsloggers.

We set up the table with a building in each corner, with one central 10 inch high buildings. The objectives was to have a unit on the highest point of the building.

Turn 1
He got first turn, and due to some unlucky deployment on my part, and a way too small playing board, he got to assault his thundercav against my leman russ. He didn't shoot that much though. His wolves also attacked the forward scout sentinal. The thundercav destroyed my leman russ from turn one, and it exploded, killing some unlucky rough riders. The wolves managed to destroy the autocannon on the sentinal, but they remained in combat. The thundercav consolidatd back towards cover as to give me a smaller target.
When my turn came I shot all my infantry at the thundercav, but to no avail. The lascannons killed a footslogger, and the chimera killed some more. Not that fruitfull a turn for me. I then charged my remaining rough riders into the wolves, aiding the troubled sentinal. Them combined, they killed just over half of the squad.

Turn 2
His army kept moving onward, and taking some more potshots, but with small effect. He charged his thundercav into my CCS, and I took major casualties, including the bodyguard. At the end, I only had the banner and the commander. The commander took a swing with a power sword, wounding the enemy commander in return. After his turn was done, I charged one Infantry squad and the PCS in the melee to tie the cavalry up while the rest assaulted towards the central building, firing as they went, doing slight casualties in the opposite space wolves footslogger squad. The veterans surged forwards ass well in their armor case, also killing a couple in the shooting phase. Combat went meh that time. The rough riders killed the last of the wolves, but they were wiped out as well, due to the wolves' counterattack. At least the sentinal was free to move his broken gun around. Combat with the thundercav was crappy as well. I managed to kill one of them, but I again, lost some more guardsmen.

Turn 3
Everything was going like in turn 2, more moving and fruitless shooting, but at least my storm troopers came. The enemy destroyed the chimera and it exploded as well, killing 3 veterans and some space wolves. At least they were stranded close to the central building. The stormtroopers also did some minimal casualties. By now, both our armies were severely losing firepower and men. I moved up the two infantry squads as well, one to cover the flank, and one up the ladder. Just one more floor to go and they were at the objective. The

Turn 4
The combat at my deployment zone was ending in his favor. I managed to kill another one, but it was hopeless. Within one turn my infantry would be wiped out. More minor shooting, the sentinal was wrecked. He also killed my lascannon squad. My veterans moved under the central building into cover, and torched and melted some spacewolves. Some spacewolves also went up in this turn, assaulting the squad that was already up there.

Turn 5
with the combat in my deployment zone won by him, he managed to move his remaining thunderwolf and his commander back towards my men. Some minor shooting again with some minor casualties. The stormtroopers were tied up in combat from turn 3. They all died this turn, but they gave a good account for themselves. They were close to wiping out the attacking space wolves themselves. His commander assaulted the infantry squad left at the ground to cover my advance, and he was followed by some sw footsloggers assaulting from the other side. I was surrounded and quickly slaughtered. While my infantry squad on the central building was tieng up the assaulting space wolves, I moved my veterans all the way up the building, thanks to a succesfull running roll. I hoped the rest of my army could keep tying up the enemy of there came a turn 6, but I crossed my fingers the game ended this turn. Alas, we rolled, and turn 6 would follow shortly.

turn 6
Ending the game at turn 5 would have been my only hope to win this game, but my hopes were smashed. He killed everything else except the veterans, and moved up the freed sw on the 1st floor to move up on the second floor. The shot the remaining veterans to smithereens, ending the game, and wining him the game.

My thoughts

I had a lot of bad luck the thundercav could have assaulted in turn one. If they didn't, I wouldn't have lost so much fire power in turn one, and then I would have some time so I could move the rest of my army into position. Appart from that, the game went well for me I think. My tactics of tying up the enemy squads while I had some half of the infantry going after the objective were going well. It actually worked, if only the gale would have ended at turn 5. It was a close call for me, I was this far away from winning. I want to tweak my list a bit, and then try my hand at another game, and see how it goes that game. Overall, I enjoyed the game. It was my first game for about two years.

I'll try and write a fluffy batrep for this later one. I hope I can find a way to pull that off. Just for laughs.

That's all from me today, hope you enjoyed the batrep and I hope you're enjoying the blog.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Major Racine+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
----------------------------------------------------------Private log nr. 1-----------------------------------------------------
My company suffered a major defeat at Ridgetown. We were patrolling the villages on the plains. Though this planet
holds many beauties, Me and my platoon commanders were astounded by the enemy's ruthlessness. Our orders were to set up a comms
array atop the highest building we found. The countless plateaus are playing havoc with vox range. As we were just entering the town, My sentinel's
scans spotted enemy movement around the other end of the town. It wasn't long until foul creatures set upon my designated armor and tore up the Leman Russ
Lion of Thrace The tech heads say it can still be repaired though. The wolf like creatures were everywhere. I spotted space marines riding them,

we made contact with the minions of chaos, an enemy we are sworn to eradicate. I ordered my troops and my remaining armor forward, with my dragoons
harassing the wolves. How the archenemy mastered the use of these giant and foul creatures I wouldn't dare to think about. Before I knew it, the enemy cavalry set upon
me and my men. My loyal men came to me aide, as my squad was quickly rendered combat ineffective. I managed to fell one of the foul beast, and with it, his rider, but
I was outclassed and outmanned. One of the riders hit me with the hilt of his axe, knocking me out. Later, I was informed that Lieutenant O'Herron assumed command,
and directed the men towards the objective while retreating all elements that were not yet engaged. A wise decision, as I was told the situation was hopeless. Julius,
my banner bearer and my designated bodyguard Orson dragged my unconscious body away, blood pouring from the head wound I suffered.

I was informed my men fought on bravely in the face of defeat. O'Herron told me when the men saw me lying on the e ground, the men fought all the harder to avenge me.
I don't believe any of it. I failed my men, and I have to give it all to regain their trust in me. After a 10 month long warp journey, my first battle on this planet saw me out of action.
I only hope I get offered a chance to redeem myself in the face of my men, and in that of the Emperor.

My next task will be managing the new influx of the reserve regiments. Those soldiers are merely boys, but only on the field of battle will the men separate from
the boys.

May The Emperor guide me in leading this company to another much wanted victory. The men deserve it.

Major Racine.
Ave, Imperator.

In the Wasteland

Hi everyone, Time for a small update. I decided to work around the Idea of Planet Thracia, nd come up with somesort of alternate setting for necromunda. The adventures will take place in Hive Arc, one of Thracia's few Hive cities. More fluff around this will be written in a few days (could be month though, I dunno) But just to wet your appetites, here are a few terrain pieces I will be using.

WIP picture of a previous building

I got a lot more stuff, but those aren't finished yet.

For the gangs, I'll probably base them off the Necromunda Gangs, just with other House names. And maybe a different look. First house idea that came to mind was an anarchistic gang/house based off Goliath. Looks willbe punky.

I'm working to finish those punkers, WIP pictures will soon follow.

Thanks for looking, Scrazz' out.

Hi there! I finished building all the members for my gang. First off is the gang roster. I didn't do the gang rating, exp and the territories yet, as my opponent has to be present. , knife, chainsword, laspistol

House: Goliath
Gang name: Anarchists (If anyone knows a better name, please let me know)

- Jackal, gang leader, knife, chainsword, laspistol

- Brute, heavy, knife, stub gun, heavy stubber

- Flynn, ganger, knife, autogun

- Jericho, ganger, knife, autogun

- Ephraim, ganger, knife, autopistol

- Saul, ganger, knife, shotgun, man stopper shells

- Phineas, ganger, knife, club, laspistol

- Enoch, ganger, knife, club, Laspistol

- Claw, juve, knife, stubgun

- Orca, juve, knife, stubgun

- Cron, juve, knife, stubgun

gang cost: 890
Stash: 110 credits

The only building work to do is to add basing, give Cron and Orca a pistol-sling at their hips, and find a soluton for the the fact that cron has 2 knives... meh.

So, here's the gang as is .
Any ideas what I should do with the 110 spare creds? I was planning on saving them, and use them tobuy some fancy gizmos at the outlaw trading market after the first game.
