So, just phoned up to change my subscription address, and checked that I'd done it in time to get the July issue sent to the new address on the 23rd (as advertised in the back of WD 390).

Apparently I needn't have worried as the next WD "doesn't go on sale until the 30th".

Sounds like some Mail Order Troll didn't get the memo.

Subscribers get their White Dwarfs delivered on the last Saturday of the month - the 30th being the last Saturday of this month. This is not new; they changed the subscriber terms a while ago. It means, quite often, WD will be for sale in shops before subscribers get their copy.

Some subscribers do, but I don't. I tend not to get mine til almost a week after that. I live in the US so I don't know if that has any bearing on it. It makes me wonder why I bothered with a subscription. I could get it sooner at my FLGS for just about the same price.
