Greetings folks!

I wanted to share Kickstarter project that I have been working on with the Dakka community:

Goalsystem Delves seamlessly blends RPG and tabletop miniature elements into a fast paced tabletop experience that provides the depth of an RPG with the fast paced action of a tactical miniatures game. Delves plays fast, allowing players to run a multi-encounter Adventure in a single session and epic campaigns over multiple sessions.

Using the proven and popular Goalsystem, Delves delivers character driven action that’s deep enough for RPG gamers and fast enough for miniature gamers.

If you love fantasy miniature skirmish gaming you will really love this! You can check out the Goalsystem Delves: Dungeon Skirmish Role-Play Kickstarter page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/222965736/goalsystem-delves-dungeon-skirmish-role-play.

Thanks for checking it out!

Rico

'Goalsystem: Delves' is either the best or the worst name i've ever heard.

Best of luck with your new game Rico.

remove / Backers from the link and it works.

I like that someone listened to the Grotster for once.

Hot on the heels of me discussing someone making more games like Caverns of Doom, I see this.

I for one would love to see the pictures of the proposed miniatures.

Love the old Blue Moon games, love Superfigs, Love the fact that I got the link to get some more treasure chests that I need for my Pirates, and Super Dungeon Explore!!!

and, Pauls good people.

I'll take "Cool D and D like skirmish game" for 100!

The update to the 5 guys is so far, two halflings with interchangeable arms.

Good quality sculpts, but we're not seeing much about the others... yet.

Well the goal of this kickstarter is to get a rpg game up and running, not a miniature line

but its a rpg designed around useing the miniatures that are produced by them and useing the gameboard so it is kinda the point ..

im sure they are looking to sell the figures as ther main profit line as theres far more money in people buying loads of new models as there relesesd that the main rule book and a expansion book now and then .

I for one am hoping that something else shows, or I'm going to have to rethink the pledge of this project.

I have ben kicking around a project of this sort for some time now, and doing it my way is more then likely going to COST a total of a hundred bucks.

The box of dungeon is already out there, I for one am looking for something along the likes of a store I once played at where they had a table of each scenery/ scenario and... you took your character or party, moved through the area and dealt with whatever came down the pipe, either dragon, or pissy little grot(6) who lead adventureres to their doom and ran through the dead said adventureres for loot and stuff.

I'll throw it out there though- Goalsystem is neat. The games already out there, from Bluemoon, are quality products, and the guys that come in the box ( at least when I was messing with it) was a fine purchase.

Four color has a bunch of differnt settings to choose from, as well, from Jack the ripper, to Spaceships and Aliens.

My favorite is the gothic victorians, ala dracula, jack the ripper, and the other guys, the civilians, are a good match for other games out there.

I pitched in my money based on the quality talent, but I'm kinda suprised we're really not seeing the kickstarter pick up any steam.

Update #1 The First Two SE Miniatures Revealed

Greetings delvers!

Here are pictures of the first two special edition miniatures on offer as a part of the Goalsystem Delves Kickstarter project: Two Halfling Adventurers! The Halfling adventurers were sculpted by industry veteran Bob Naismith and painted by Sky Hernstrom. These two high quality miniatures are cast in pewter and come with interchangeable hands so you can arm each as you would like. You can get your hands on these two figures, as well as three more yet to be revealed by pledging at the $50 or $100 level, and you can get them fully painted as a part of our $300 and $500 dollar pledge packages.

Update #3: Goalsystem Delves on Diehard GameFAN
Posted 7 minutes ago
edit this post

Greetings delvers,

Goalsystem Delves: Dungeon Skirmish Role-Play just got a nice mention as a part of Diehard GameFAN's Kickstart My Heart column. We were included in section 3's Ten Games You Should Consider Backing. Here is an excerpt:

"Goalsystem Delves: Dungeon Skirmish Role-Play. I have a lot of miniatures sealed tight in a box from my days playing Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures. Unfortunately, the game is dead and there’s no one in DC to play it with. Even if I did get someone interested in learning, they’d have to pay a pretty penny for some back pieces. Combine that with the minis I have from all those fantasy board games I’ve reviewed for the site, and something like Goalsystem Delves is tailor made for me. It’s a brand new system for a miniature combat RPG that is compatible with whatever minis you have lying around, be they D&D, Chainmail, Games Workshop figures, Reaper or whatever. You can get the system for only fifteen dollars, and some of the rewards include exclusive terrain and/or special edition minis made just for this Kickstarter. That’s pretty cool. It also lets new people enter the world of miniatures gaming without buying hundreds of dollars in figures ala Warhammer. You can just have a nice little skirmish game with whatever you have lying around. So if you have figures leftover from old dead games like Mage Knight, this might be a way to breathe new life into them."

Greetings folks,

I wanted to address some of the comments posted here. Goalsystem Delves is not designed to be used with miniatures or terrain created by us. It’s actually designed to be used with any fantasy miniatures and terrain you would like to use. Figures are not the main form of income for this product line as of right now, the book is. A fully realized fantasy figure line is an interesting idea and I can’t predict the future, but a high quality set of game rules is our current and primary goal. The miniatures and terrain we are offering are created in partnership with other companies and sculptors respectively. They are meant to be nice bonus for fans who help support us and we are grateful for their support

Grot 6, we hear your concerns and once again we thank you for your support. We will be revealing more of the SE figures and more as we progress. Four-Color Studios is a very small company (check out our staff page) but we have lofty goals and we appreciate the people that are helping us get there.

Thanks again to all those who have checked out our Kickstarter!

No worries, I still have a soft spot for these games, yet was a little troubled not seeing much coming out of the big picture on the rules system.

I am definatly interested in this sort of a system, seeing as my main interest these days is skirmish games.

What I am hoping to see some of those Chaos in games up for sale with some extras on your site.

Goalsystems is a solid skirmish rules set, and works very well. One of my favorites, by and by.

Update #4: Stalking Through the Dank Forest it's the Clawed Stalker!

Greetings delvers!

Our third SE miniature for the Kickstarter is one of two "large" size figures: the Clawed Stalker! A clawed stalker is the result of a druid giving completely into his/her atavistic nature. Over time the druid grows, its size only matched by its hatred, unleashing violence on any creature that happens to stumble into its territory. These malicious monsters have been known to track parties of adventurers for days, gleefully picking off those who stray too far from the light or the protection of their fellows.

The clawed stalker stands about 50 mm from base of foot to tip of ear and will surely intimidate any party it encounters. This figure was sculpted by Chip Mann and painted by Scott Pyle. You can get your paws on the clawed stalker figure, as well as four others (two yet to be revealed) by pledging at the $50 or $100 level, and you can get them fully painted as a part of our $300 and $500 dollar pledge packages.

CURNOW,

We're selling the game as a hybrid game. Miniatures are integral to play thus: Dungeon Skirmish Roleplay. Of course elements traditionally associated with roleplaying such as character advancement and cooperative play are also emphasized. I endeavored to explain the reason for miniatures and terrain as rewards in a previous post and I'll repost it here for clarity:

"Goalsystem Delves is not designed to be used with miniatures or terrain created by us. They are meant to be nice bonus for fans who help support us and we are grateful for their support."

As for your comment regarding the miniature, the Clawed Stalked may not be your cup-of-tea, but we really like him and we hope others will as well. If you don't like the miniature that is your prerogative, but there is certainly no reason to resort to disrespectful behavior. We have two more SE sculpts to be revealed. Hopefully one of them, or another reward would be more to your liking.

Thanks for looking.

Rico

So far looks great! Would like to see more of that cavern system set, and wondering how much that costs, though.

Game reminds me of the Caverns of Doom set, minus the paints.

PrimarchX,

I would recommend checking out the actual Kickstarter page to clear your questions up. Here is a link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/222965736/goalsystem-delves-dungeon-skirmish-role-play

The game is actually made to be used with any fantasy miniatures you have in your collection. You can also use any terrain you would like from fully modeled dungeon terrain (like the sets produced by our partner, Tinker's Lair) to a Chessex game mat.

Thanks to the support of some awesome partners we are able to offer some special edition miniatures and terrain as rewards, though our overall goal is to publish the Goalsystem Delves rulebook.

Any word on where to get that "Caverns of Blood" set? I don't see a basic set of those available, and would like to get in on some of that action.

Also, would like to know if expansion sets are available?

Stuff looks fantastic. Got my eyes on some of those extra treasure chests from the other company for SDE, and my pirate games.

Update #12: The 4th SE Miniature Revealed: Rise of the Oni Mage! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/222965736/goalsystem-delves-dungeon-skirmish-role-play/posts/268172

Based on Joshua Dahle's amazing illustration for the Goalsystem Delves rulebook, Four-Color Studios presents the 4th special edition miniature, the Oni Mage! Sculpter Tom Mason masterfully captures Dahle's imagery to create this imposing fantasy monster. In Goalsystem Delves the Oni Mage is a dangerous and canny foe, capable in both melee and at range with it's magical abilities.

Thanks for checking it out!

Grot 6 - The Caverns of Blood sets are a special offer in conjunction with Tinker's Lair and we only have a very limited supply of them. We are offering them painted as a special reward at the listed backing levels on the Goalsystem Delves Kickstarter main page. Tinker's Lair will be selling these sets unpainted at a later date (post our Kickstarter).

Exactly. It's a generic rule-set that isn't tied down to a specific brand. There's probably more of those out there than rule-sets with specific brands of minis. Song of Blades and Heroes is a popular one.

Four Colors rules sets are solid, though.

Yes, there are a few others out there, but the Goalsystem is standard fare, and pretty good with the other games. Chaos in Carpathia is pretty cool. They have a few others out there, and the Supersystem is my all time favorites for the superheros.

Yes, they don't seem to have much as far as snacks, but the rules set has plenty of potential.

I for one would like a few more of those halflings, though. Any way of getting them?

Seems like the Reaper Kickstarter would tie in pretty well with this, and any other miniature based RPGing activity.

How different would this be from playing a roleplaying-lite version of D&D 4ed?
