Title says it all really, which of all the races would you most enjoy playing against and why?

For me I would say Tyranid Horde just for the feel of it and that to me it gives the fluff of elite armies vs vast hordes of enemies that just keep coming, failing that probably necrons for the un-killable robots factor.

What army would you find the most fun to play against?

Black Templars - Haven't played against them
Blood Angels - Hell no. BA are no fun to play against whatsoever. Very non-fun
Chaos Daemons - I've enjoyed my 1 game against daemons
Chaos Space Marines - I play CSM. I don't like playing against my own army, so not fun for me.
Dark Angels - Not very fun. Not terrible like BA though
Dark Eldar - I dont like venoms and raiders, and poison, and pretty much everything dildar always bring
Eldar - They're fun to play against, depending on who is playing them. I like facing T3 units
Grey Knights - No. Just no
Imperial Guard - If they are infantry or mixed, it can be alright. Mech, nah.
Necrons - Depends on the list. Night time all the time,? everything in my army takes a S8 hit at any range, no matter about LOS? Wraiths? No thanks. Other than that they can be ok to face. Dont know if I'd say fun though..
Orks - Wacky rules are fun to play against. Orks have wacky rules. Not that fun to face a green tide though. Or 30 kans or whatever, that's not very fun. Still, by comparison, orks might be the most fun to face.
Sisters of Battle - Not bad
Space Marines - They're okay to face
Space Wolves - They're okay to face, as long as your opponent is not cheesing you.
Tau - generally not bad to face

Final vote, orks
Tyranids -

TBH I like playing against GK. Tyranids and Orks run close behind. Just love to kill those hordes.

Orks. They are too entertaining, and can always put up a good game against any opponent.

I'd never play them because I'm just not a fan, but I enjoy playing against them.

It's close between Tyrannids and Orks, but Tyranids win because of just how alien they are and Starship Troopers.

I would like to play against the Ork army I usually play. I try and make it as fun as possible, taking ZogWort and Big Mek w/ SaG as HQ's. Both fun and at times VERY deady! Nothing like turning abbadon into a squig or getting 6,6 direct hit on an 8 man SW bike squad 2 inches infront of your Big Mek and removing all but 2!
It's all about fun with me, but it does suck when you mostly play people where winning comes 1st.

Orks, great to play against on the TT and as a general rule the majority of Ork players are fun opponents any way

Just watching Tyranid vs MEQ games is exciting. The build up of MEQs pumping rounds into a horde of Nids before the oh gak 'crunch time'... One of, if not my favourite, MiniWargaming battle reports was Deathwing vs Nids, seeing how many wounds the Terminators could put out before the horde smashed into them and overwhelmed them.

Probably why Planetstrike and the Badab 'defend your position' scenarios are my favourite, I always used to hole up in a custom fortress map in DoW and try to hold the gates against an unstoppable Ork horde. Can't wait for the new 6th Ed scenario rules, hopefully they allow for similar epic last stands.

I like straightforward games. Two armies throwing themselves at each other in brutal fighting. Spending 5 turns unsuccessfully chasing down skimmers for a game that ends in a draw is highly unsatisfying.

Obviously I like playing against most foot lists, then, and against mech lists that aren't also parking lots. As such, there are lots of fun armies to play against, but my consistently favorite opponent is actually CSM. Chaos doesn't have the ability to run ultra-boring mech gunlines (or only somewhat less boring foot gunlines for that matter). Chaos doesn't have either the ability nor the desire to spend the first half of the game avoiding combat. Chaos points at your army and says "kill THOSE guys!". A proper, bloody fight always ensues.

Furthermore, chaos gives me a slightly better feeling when I remove their models from the board, not only because the models themselves were tougher (game-wise and fluff-wise), but it also feels good to actually cleanse the universe of evil as an IoM army. Actually, it makes sense to fight against chaos with ANY army. Really, that's one of the things that makes chaos so good. Watching two grey knight armies fight each other makes me want to barf, as far as fluff is concerned. Fighting CSM always makes you feel you're somehow doing the right thing, no matter what faction you're playing against them with.

I've always wanted to play guard infantry vs guard infantry in a massive cities of death game. I think that would be ace.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

There needs to be more IG. I really wish the starter set had been IG vs Nids. There really needs to be more players of both of those.

I've played hundreds of games with my Blood Angels and Tau against every army. But one of the my favorite games was my Tau versus another Tau player. We totally tried out maneuvering each other and anticipating each other's moves. It was a city fight that felt like a game of cat and mouse. A lot of fun.

Orks, I just wish the one guy who plays them around here wasn't so wierd. Hence why I've started up my own ork army, so I can reclaim their good name. Around here, if you play orks, it's usually met with "oh boy, another loony"... hopefully I can change that.

Never played against Nids, but I've always wanted to. Only problem is my store is very competitive, and none of them will bring nids until their codex gets a serious buff :(

Orks for me.

The various SM codexes are either boring to play against or OP as hell (looking at you GK ), and so many people play them that you almost always wind up against one or the other of them at a tournament. Some games vs SM have been fun, but as a whole it's a bit dull, or intensely 'you have to be kidding me ! ' frustrating. YMMV of course

Orks are ALWAYS a good game, in my experience, just by being orks. I've honestly never had a game against Orks i didn't enjoy

As a SM player, I enjoy playing any for the xenos races.I usually really enjoy; nids, necrons, and orks in that order.

Playing DA, I enjoy playing chaos SM, CD, and my local renegade guard player (usually my favourite games).

generally I enjoy playing any army. Usually it's the player that determines how fun the game is. I enjoy friendly but competitive players. I enjoy having to really work for my wins, but hate WAAC TFG Power gamers, no matter the army or the outcome.

For the record, I voted IG, just because they have been my closest and most fun games.

An army of Imperial footguard for me. I never realised how much fun it was fighting against 120 models (a 1000pt battle) who were t3 with flashlights and wearing toilet paper for armour. Not a single tank or big blast marker.

It was the closest i've ever been to playing a "novel" army, my Chaos Space marines were nearly impossible to kill, it seemed like every shot my CSM fired killed someone, and in CC, oh my, even my normal CSM were killers. My Chaos lord did a Rabban (from the movie of Dune) and we decided that every IG he killed in CC he threw off the bridge they were fighting on. and there was a pile by the end.
