Hello everyone. I recently bought the Cadian Standard/Medic pack seen here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440247a&prodId=prod1140073
I am trying to paint the blood pack as a sort of transparent plastic. I remember seeing a great guide to painting vials and such on GWs own site, but they have since taken down everything. Does anyone have links to a guild or tips?

I assume it would be something like a red gemstone (deep red, then red and orange) finished with gloss varnish. Just remember to highlight away from the light. A basic glossy red might also pass. At least, that's how I'd do it.

Yeah, it's similar to the gem technique, with the surface split as far as base (caustic/refracted light) highlighting is concerned with a 'water level'. You then put the sharp (reflected) highlight on over the top.

Slightly more simplistic English: highlight the underside then add a white dot on top.

Yeah. I really am not quite so lost on how to paint the liquid so much as the outside plastic transparency, as well as the transparency on the top.
Something like this without the label: http://cache0.bigcartel.com/product_images/40088871/PB_WEB_PRODUCT_IMAGE_-__blood_pack.jpg

You leave the top half white?

Yeah, the top half a light grey, the bottom half red. Both of those gradient-highlighted like you would for a gem (so toward the bottom left corner, then the hard highlights for the 'water line' and actual 'bag' last.

QFT
but also gradient highlight the bag itself and add some scripture for realism

Also you could add a thin brown line at the top of the liquid and maybe a tiny blend. That might divide them up a bit? Try both maybe.
