Now that 4 glancing hits will wreck any vehicle AND rapid fire weapons can move and shoot up to 24", does it feel like Necron guass weapons are the new best all around (anti-tank & anti infantry) weapon?
Does anyone want to post a Necron list with 60 Necron warriors in it?

Well I think it's a tad over powered. The necrons are becoming the new super power.
Still they're expensive and fragile, I mean atleast my Dakkajets can shred entire squads.
11 Necron warriors would die in a Waaagh turn. I have three jets at 750p, please post more Warriors

Necrons do have some of the best anti vehicle stuff in the game now don't we?
Scarabs -> gets 5 into base with a vehicle, hit on 3's (I believe) and strip armor on 4's, and then see see if any glance / pen. with the reduced armor. (Average of about -8 to armor, lets say against AV14 rear you'll only need to roll a 3+ to glance it to death on about 12 dice)
War-scythe sweeps -> 50% hit and 2D6 for pen with a str 7 weapon. So rolling averagely you'll glance AV14 and probably get +1 or +2 on the explosion chart (I don't know what AP they're becoming, but it is going to be nice either way)
Gauss -> Auto glance on 6's with good rolling can take out a vehicle or half kill one a turn. (looks like average of 1 glance per 10 shots)

The only thing is that, there are no kill points in 6th Ed - it goes back to the points cost. So blowing up a Rhno only gets you 50 points.

People asked much the same questions when Necrons first came out in 3rd edition.
"Why bother with tanks when Necrons will simply glance them until they die?"
Of course, glancing hits could kill tanks back in 3rd on a 6, and generally the 3-5 Glancing hits a good, solid salvo of Gauss was likely to land you stood a decent chance of killing anything from a Land Raider to a Rhino.
... and it appears that once more they can accomplish this.
I suppose my point is that this isn't anything new, it really isn't. This is simply the game 'righting' itself, putting things back where they SHOULD be. 5th edition rule-isms killed tanks caring much about Gauss. That has now been redressed.

No, it's actually pretty new.
I played Necrons back in 4th, and way back then tanks were utterly foreign unless they were skimmers. The Necrons did very well against Eldar and Tau back then, and would screw up the world for most any mech army, and this was only when any 6 Glanced, and you needed a 6 on the Glancing table to wreck a vehicle.
Now all the Necron player needs to do is Glance 3 times, and almost every vehicle in the game is dead. 4 Times for the bigger stuff. That's 3-4 6's being rolled to pen after hits, and you've got a guaranteed dead tank.

So now the BoLS has the rulebook in hand and has published a lot of the rule changes. Here are how hull points work.
You lose a hull point any time you suffer a glancing hit OR a penetrating hit.
The number of hull points you have seems to follow this formula (Front Armor + Side armor (once) + Rear Armor) divided by 10 and rounded down. So land raiders and monoliths have 4 hull points, rhinos have 3.
You only roll on the vehicle damage chart for penetrating hits. NOT for glances.
Damage chart is 1-2 shaken, 3 stunned, 4 Wep Dest, 5 Immob, 6 Explodes.
Modifiers for AP, AP2 is +1, AP1 is +2, Open topped is +1
In 5th edition, ONLY penetrating hits could destroy a vehicle. (barring open topped and AP1 etc.). So you were forced to take lots of high strength weapons to deal with tanks. Hence the prevalence of melta. But now it seems that a big volume of medim to high strength weapons is going to be a more effective strategy because you can guarantee a wreck with just 3-4 glances. This fact alone is going to make the Necron guass flayer THE weapon of choice for 6th ed.

Glancing hits could also destroy a vehicle back in 5th - weapons destroyed / immoblized => wrecked.
Also - why have a huge squad of warriors? Small squad + Haywire Staff + Veil = instant death to any vehicle on the field. 1 dead vehicle per turn and there's nothing you can do about it.
Hahahaha.
Gauss has been heavily nerfed TWICE in the past, but with 6th, get ready to cry about your wrecked vehicles
...A LOT.

Yeah...I think straight up ignoring armor saves is better anyway. Im looking forward to the changes involving JI. My praetorians may actually get them selves some playtime...im sure they will still be outshined by wraiths but at least now they might actually be useful.

Yeah, this makes 4th Edition Necron firepower look like a pea-shooter. I tested a squad of 10 firing last night on various vehicles and quite frankly it is sick. Literally the guy I was testing with was like: I don't even know why I would play vehicles against this army.
That's not even counting anything other folks have mentioned: Warscythes, CCB, Voltaic Staff, Voidblades, Scarabs, Doomscythes, HoD Crypteks, Heavy Destroyers (Heavy Gauss Cannons - AP 1 anyone?), etc etc.

Actually I think Eldar my be the Vehicle Killers.
Fire Draons will Kill any tank in one turn of shooting
Swhooping Hawks glance on a 2 in close combat, and hit very easily.
Wraithguard do the samething just in shooting.
Personally I don't see many Necrons around, so it won't change my list too much. (That threat at least)

You may as 6th edition catches on and people see what the Necrons can do at full rule power. Necrons will be vehicle killers of choice because their troops have such standard "out of the box" killing power against them. Other armies (such as Eldar, Dark Eldar, GK, and Space Wolves, on and on) all have ability to kill vehicles well but in elite, heavy support, and fast attack slots. But I think Necrons will definitely be in top tier as far as being able to summon vehicle killing power across their whole FOC - particularly in the troops slot. So what that means I as a Necron player won't have to go out of my way toget anti-mech. Even my troops can be deadly to vehicles. It will just be naturally part of the evolution of my force. In essence it allows me more freedom in other FOC slots because I don't have to stack those slots with specifically dedicated anti-mech units. That is fairly powerful in practice.

Necrons will pwn vehicles in 6th if they stack up on their anti vehicle toys, but nids, Deamons, and foot hordes all became more viable in 6th.

Necrons where made as a 6th Codex just look at some of the wording it did not make sense, out of all the codexs they will have the smallest Errata i bet

I'm not so sure you can say GK are dethroned, just different.
Terminators as Troops, Psycannons still glance the hell out of everything, and they can get S5 guns on all their terminators (for cheap when you take a big unit and combat squad), and they get Flying MC's with 2+/5+ saves.
All fear the new GK Wing.

if the codex says they ignore armor saves then they count as AP2 unless they are in the rulebook as ap3.
if the codex says they are power weapons, they are ap3

GK Wing not to scary to Necrons, a flying MC? Ha a necron lord can go 1 on 1 and come out not even taking a wound.
S7 2+ 3++ Ignore Armour, oh thats if the MC does not punch it self in the face.
GK will take a hit that is for sure their transports to deliver their amazing Pallys have dropped and if they want to deepstrike good luck with that and trying to keep pace with 36inch movement transports now days
