"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

Silently and with no fanfair. Thursdays (today) are the 40k days at my local store. I planned to go up today to play one final game but circumstances have me unable to go. Next time I'll beable to go up is Saturday, when I'll be picking up 6th edition and attempting to play a game!

Tonight is the last game of our Summer 40k league, and more likely than not the last game of 5th edition I'll be playing. It's going to be a big 2000 point game and my Crimson Fists (that I started at the beginning of 5th edition) are going to bring the hurt to a bunch of Necrons. It's gonna be good, and I'll probably post a battle report!

A big bonfire! We are all tossing our 5th rule books in and all the models we think might be nerfed...then when the hysteria wares off we will realize we should not have melted our models.

Planning to wage an Apoc battle against my bro, should be fun.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

You're gonna melt your models that you think MIGHT get nerfed? I would never toss a model I spent that much time and money on in a fire just because it might be sub-optimal in the current ruleset/codex. That's terrible forward thinking.

40k Armies:
Alaitoc 9300 points
Chaos 15000 points
Speed Freeks 3850 points

WHFB Armies:
Lizardmen 1000 points

The orky thing to do would be to convert the BRB into a battlewagon.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

In a couple of months. My local GW is supposed to be allowing it to continue, while giving out tutorial games and allowing people the chance to by it. But come September that's it.

My local store is extending their hours until midnight(ish) to allow people to get their copies of 6th edition at 12:01AM.

Instead of hanging out there and getting a last game on 5th edition in, however, I'll be getting drunk and partying at a completely separate location where I seriously doubt WH40K will even come into conversation.

Pretty sure he's joking dude! There are some reactionary posters here, but I don't think many are that bad!

Getting drunk then going to my FLGS would have me stumbling out of the store with 2000 points of an army I didn't even know I wanted, I guarantee it.

I think I'm going to deep fry my BRB then dunk it in wing sauce.

Also, celebrated by finally starting to paint my DP of Khorne.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

My store was planning on holding a tournament. 24 entrants, first place wins 24 raffle tickets, and it goes down in reverse order. Entrance fee was preordering the book (which got you another raffle ticket).

At midnight, they do a drawing. The winner gets a free 2000pt 40k army that the store builds for you. Then they release the books.

Was really hopin to be there tonight, but ended up having to work instead. :(

Same here. I mentioned my curiosity about WHFB to the GW manager, and I'm sure he'd take full advantage of that if I came in drunk.
