Important Roadworks Near Warhammer World

Important Roadworks Near Warhammer World

Nottingham is extending the tram system, so from late 2014 you'll be able to hop on the tram in the city centre, and hop off just down the road from us! To add this useful route to the public transport, a lot of work is taking place around Nottingham and close to Warhammer World, including redirecting traffic and some road closures.

We'll keep you updated of changes as we are notified of them, but you can also check the NET website, and find out about any changes to the main bus times or routes through the NCT website.

You can still get to us, but perhaps not by your usual route.

Road closure 7th - 8th July and 14th - 15th July
No road access from Abbey Street to Gregory Street/Lenton Lane, and no access from Gregory Street/Lenton Lane to Abbey Street. You can still access the other end of Lenton Lane from Clifton Boulevard and Queen's Drive.

Check the pdf for a map and details of the changes.

Changes to access from Monday 9th July for approximately 12 months
No road access from Abbey Street to Gregory Street/Lenton Lane, although you will be able to leave Lenton Lane onto Abbey Bridge. You can reach us by driving up the other end of Lenton Lane, from Clifton Boulevard and Queen's Drive.

Check the pdf for a map and details of the changes.

Worth bearing in mind if one is attending the Open day on the 14th

Be handy that the tram route will get you near to the store though. A taxi from the town centre is only about a fiver, but money saved is money put towards a pint once one arrives.

Nice, I might be able to get there a little easier if the trams are going there. I'm in Leicestershire. I'm tempted to try get there on the tram sometime if I can just get a train to Nottingham and hop over that way.

Getting at the HQ by taxi from the city centre is not a problem, not too expensive. But getting from the airport to the city... that's much longer than I expected lol

The tram will be great. When my brother and I visited in 2001, we walked to GW HQ/Warhammer World from the city center (and back). Fortunately, Bugman's was there for us to slake our thirst at. It was a nice 3 mile or so walk down Canal Street and Castle Boulevard each way though. Good times.

So if there are more than one or two people in your group it is still going to be cheaper (and probably faster) to take a taxi

That was certainly the case with the trams in Sheffield anyway.

I guess the previous posters don't live in Nottingham. They may be doing works for the tram but don't expect it to be up and running any time soon - the first (and as yet only) line took ages to complete. Having checked their website, it's due to be completed at the end of 2014.

Lol, yeah... I've yet to bother using a tram in Nottingham, and I've lived here for well over 10 years now.
