Allo all.

I'm collecting Orks, and to silly it up a bit, i decided to dissect some lootas and change their hands so that they now have one arm in the air sticking up the middle finger.

I recently was told by someone that this would make my models inadmissible in tournament play or in a GW shop because they are now "too rude".

Is this true? I mean, you would only spot it if someone pointed it out to you.

With Orks it might fly.

They have had rude Ork models in the past.

IIRC, the grot rigger included in the Battlewagon upgrade pack is doing the one-fingered universal gesture of friendship...

With some DE models being basically nude, there shouldnt be a problem with orks giving the birdie

I would tell them to use a little bit of logic in their thought processes. The idea that a middle finger is more offensive than the weapons, psychic abilities, or the fluff that motivates the writers to develop these rules is not even funny. Maybe you should remind them that they are playing a game where armies are regularly tearing each other apart in gruesome ways (especially when you consider armies like nids, chaos, or daemons) and in some cases these things are done for no reason than to cause terror (Tyranids aside...they at least consume the planet after they rip apart everything that calls it home). Not even the heavenly marines are flawless when you consider factions such as the Blood Angels or the simple fact that chaos space marines exist.

If I were you I would tell them that 40k is not for everyone. Hell if they just want to roll dice in an unpolarized game setting there is always monopoly or candlyand.

They themselves released bare breasted demonetes, that way more "rude" than a middle finger, i think for orcs it fits.

I think I'd ask my local GW and tourny organizers just to be sure before going off of what random people say.

People can be very random about what they find offensive. They sound OK to me though.

Sounds fine to me. Considering we're involved in a fiction that makes use of daemons and soul-devouring monstrosities, not to genocide and endless, unremitting war, how bad is the middle finger really.

I don't see a problem with this either. My best mate plays orks and some "Rude" models and they get a few laughs at the hobby store. I had someone get offended with my CSM champion with "Your God is a Lie" painted on his shoulder plate. So who's to say lol..

inadmissible is silly - if it was it would be in their rules for the tounament.

If someone was offended and it was my Army, I would also give them the You Are # 1 sign!!!
Beside, you can always say he was giving the Peace sign but his index finger got shot off!!!

Ummm last time I looked aren't all the CSM models giving the finger in some sort of way?? Just look at them they all have an extended middle finger on one of their poses with the rest of the fingers curled down to leave that one just a wee bit longer I don't think that you having orks doing the same would be that big of a deal. I personally wouldn't make a stink of it if I played with you. I would prolly laugh and congratulate you on a job well done

Just tell him theres nothing rude about the model. The ork was simply picking his nose and showing his mates what he found...

Don't play him. Don't play at tourneys he is running, or at shops he owns. Otherwise, enjoy fielding your orks that are distinctively yours.

Go for it! In almost any chaos kit that gesture is included, usually on the power fists/claws.
Also orks aren't known for their decency so the more the merrier. Hell, make mooning ork drivers!

If you look at the Valten on horse from the Warhammer Fantasy range, he is supposedly making "the sign of the twin tailed commet". But we all know that hes flipping the bird british style. So if even GW's officiallyreleased models get to do it ( albeit in an obscure manner ) i dont see a problem with a few orks giving people the "Sod off ya Gitz" salute

back when i first started 40k in 3rd, i made a unit of gaurdians with a few doing a michael jackson crotch grab move, and a few with middle fingers. first game with them at local GW store and i was told "dont come back with those models" as the staff felt they were either too "crude" rude, or else someone complained about it to them and that was the reaction. needless to say i had to bitz order more arms for my gaurdians.

as for today.... i would be careful. alot of kids play the game, and parents are ignorant (by choice or otherwise) of the fluff and background. but seeing a middle finger or otherwise rude gesture on a model being used in a game with their "puhrecious wittle babbins" might send them over the edge. and believe me.... a screaming pissed off parent of a slighted kid (even if only the parent feels the kid was slighted and the kid dont care) can make TO, or store staff take the quickest route to make the screaming parent stop and or vanish... and thats to give em what they want - you or your model, gone.

Oh rly? Guess you havvent meet my Daemon Princes then, but back onm topic. Play your army as it is, if people get upset well its their problem not yours.

Do you really see staff inspecting all your mini's close enough to see that?
