For me, fluff. I think. The art work & photos are strong contenders though

Love me a good long whiff of a new rulebook.

For me its hitting the rules first and fluff second..then get a few test games in before I start anything with my group.

The first thing I will go to when I get the new rulebook will be the restroom. There seems to be a lot of good reading material in the book.

I'll probably flip through it and check out any art/dioramas/minis that catch my eye. Work my way to the appendixes and see if there are any updates there. Check out the space marine section in the fluff. After that, back to page 1 for a methodical read through the book.

This assumes no outside interference. If there are guys hanging out in my FLGS ranting/raving about something new that seems off, I will probably flip to that section of the rules to get my own read on the situation.

Rules first, then the fluff. I would do it opposite but I have a game Monday!

Me I will do my new ritual and stand the book up so it can see me throw 4th ed with all my might to let it know if it sucks as bad as that edition it will suffer the same fate. Then I shall pray to my chosen god and crack it open and prepare for nerdgasuming.

Personally, I will wait to see how 6th edition writes up here before buying. I think %th edition is far and away the best yet and WE enjoy it as is.

There's a couple of things I want to know about. Things that will really affect how my army plays such as Deep Striking, Assault Weapons, Force Weapons, Overwatch, etc.

I'll be checking them out first, then it'll be a good look over the whole book from start to finish

I hope this made some sense at least, I recomend that people take what I wrothe with a pinch of salt since personal taste may varie from gamer to gamer, but all in all I think 6ht will be good. I was at least positivly suprised, I had been nursing nigthmares about 6th for a long time but these where wrong I am glad to say

I'm going to read the rules. Then have a game or three. Yay for midnight release parties

Fluff then Artwork. Then rules if i need to. But the pyschic power section needs some review to me

First was the ally rules then new psychic powers. Don't like the double foc after 2k points. Hope you have to start over with hqs before going straight to heavies

Its minimum 2 HQs and 4 troops above 2k so you do need to double up on the basics before you get other stuff.

I will check out bikes, reserves, outflanking, etc. Everything that will effect my Guardians of the Covenant (either are White Scars or Ravenwing, depending on my mood).

A second FOC becomes available, you don't have to use it.

I'm just going to the rules and see what is competitive and what's garbage now then see what kind of broken list I can build with the new rules. Then I'm going to post it to dakka so i can hear the squeals of discontent when there's something (like mech spam or draigo wing in 5th) that everyone will play and abuse.

I'll do a flip through to look at the pretty pictures, then I'll start reading from page 1 onward. I don't plan on having a game for a good week or two because I want these rules to sink in before I start up with them!
