So how are people planning to approach jumping into 6th edition, in particular your first game using the new rules?
Are you gonna start playing smaller games than normal to learn slowly?
Are you gonna first build new lists specifically for 6th?
Take a tried and true 5th edition list to see what happens?
I for example have a particular 1500pt. "Speed Freaky" Ork list that I have played many games with in 5th.
I plan to field it exactly as is in my first game of 6th edition with no tweaks or changes. I'm curious to first see how a list I am already highly familar with fairs under the new rules. I figure this will allow me to really see the effect of the new rules on my beloved orks and plan new lists accordingly moving forward.
Thoughts? Plans?
IF you have already played your first game of 6th, I would be curious to hear what approach to list choice you went with and the results...

Well, I definitely want to see how my 1850 Anrakyr stacks up in the new edition, with the modified flyer rules, chariot rules, and revised assault mechanics.
But after that I'm teaming up my tau with everything!

Since I am expecting vehicles to be far less dominant I plan on re-building my Scythe spam list. A variation of course to make it better for 6th, but I'm jumping in straight at the 1850 point mark since we have the Shanghai GT only a month or so away.

My 2000pt IG only has 2 troop FOC slots, (But has 10 troops) so i can deploy all my Heavy weapons even if its DOW. However I hear thats an illegal list in 6th since you have to have 4 troops at 2000pts.

I've already started working on my Necron list for 6th. It's quite a bit different.

My 1850 orks translate very well, they will stay the same. My Eldar list is moving up from 1500 to 1850, but basically remains as is. My 1000pt Tau, I have not decided.

Well, we will have a ''try-out'' RTT at the 1750 pt level in two weeks and will definitely pick an army using the 6th ed rules.
Not sure though what to take: DoA, Eldar, DE, SM or CSM. By the way, allies will not be allowed.

I'm going to try a variety of different lists. I'm leaving my tried and trusted lists and am now testing several combinations of alliances. Currently Orks with either Tau or Necrons are severely better than on their own. Similarly, I have a standard necron ally list - Anrakyr the traveller (they have new model for him in rulebook) + Immortals and a doomsday ark
these allies are the cherry on the sundae

Only if you choose to use the second FOC. So, if you only have two troops and 1 HQ, you can only have 3 HS, Elites, FA.
