Im building a Land Speeder for my marines, and i was thinking how it looks "just standing there", while it should look like zooming around in high speed...

I remember to have the same issue while building a Dark Eldar Venom some time ago, ando how i dont solved the problem on it...

So i decided to ask you guys how you deal with this, how you add that sense of moving fast into a miniature, and what should i do to get it...

Any tips are welcome

Thank you guys...

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

maybe you could add some flowing spacemarine sigil or parchment scrolls with battle prayers.

Change the angle at which the Land Speeder stands. Make it look as if it is dodging some terrain, or as if it is changing its direction.

You should check out Jetbike pictures for reference.

I concur. Just making it look like its maneuvering a bit helps a lot.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

For humor:

Helmetless marine pilots, greenstuff hair blown back in the wind with OMG WIND! faces.

For real advice:

A jaunty angle does really help. Purity seals blown back at an angle, rather then hanging down. Oil/weathering streaks like on airplanes help give the illusion of speed. Exhaust or bolter casing flying back might help.

I can agree with the other post first. A slight tilt will give an "action" pose to the speeder. Also using the human heads are a nice idea.

I have taken my speeders to another level. I was looking for something to give it more action than sitting there so I added white painted steel wool to the turbine section of the speeder and coned it out. It looks like exaust fumes coming from the engine or some kind of wind helping to push the speeder forward.

I have also added a led to the front light on it. I find that a little light can sometimes bring out cool looks too.

I agree with ideas given above. I'll just add one : on my Land speeders, I used directionnal weathering.

Add damages on edges directed in the speeders moving direction, especially on nose and wings. You can see the result in my gallery if you want.

Put three identical landspeeders on a line, so that it'll have the illusion of going really fast.

For comedic value how about a Space marine hanging on for dear life. with his legs towards the engine.

Would they be slightly different sizes and normally stored in a diagonal line on the wall?

Wolf tails are great for this purpose, as are banners & charms & talismans.

My landspeeder storm is nose down, bum up (or as it is referred to by the egg-beater pilots I know - "viffing" - Vectoring In Forward Flight. It's how eggbeaters accelerate after liftoff).

You could have a wolf sticking his head out of the side hatch, face in the wind, with his tongue hanging out.
