I saw this list this weekend and it was terrifying. Should be renamed "How to Abuse 6th Edition Flyer Rules"
Fateweaver
Bloodthirster, Unholy Might, Blessing of the Blood God
Daemon Prince, Iron Hide, Wings, MoT, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
Daemon Prince, Iron Hide, Wings, MoT, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
Daemon Prince, Iron Hide, Wings, MoT, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
10 Horrors, Bolt, Changeling
10 Horrors, Bolt
10 Horrors, Bolt
That's about it. That list ends up at around 1883. You can dick around with the Troops or whatnot, but the core is pretty much the flying MCs.
The Bloodthirster is there to provide S8 Vector strikes on other flyers, but you could replace him with a LOC within the same points range.
The whole point of this army is you have a set of MCs with wings (which, in the DOC book count as Flying Monsters instead of Jump units.)
Essentially all of the MCs fly around in a bubble around Fateweaver getting re-rolls to their saves and getting hit on a 6 (if they're in Flight mode, that is.)
Each one of them barring the Bloodthirster (if you use one, of course) is getting 1 S8 AP1 and 3 S5 AP3 shots at BS5 each turn and remaining virtually unkillable while in mid-air.
It essentially becomes a Daemonic ball of death that flies around shooting things down at its leisure and getting hit on a 6 with re-rollable armor/invulnerable saves. You can either take a Bloodthirster to jump out and hit things or a Lord of Change to make more shooting.
There's very few things in the game that have Skyfire right now. There's pretty much the Lascannon and TL Autocannons on the Aegis Defense piece and...that's about it.
I assume that'll change, but as long as there's pretty few things in the game that can reliably take down Flying MCs/Vehicles this list is going to be pretty brutal.

Its a good list, but won't be able to tackle hordes that well, tyranids, etc. This list will be reasonably tough to knock down, but once it hits the ground, its the same ol' daemons people are used to.

Having Fateweaver and Bloodthrist are a must, but the heavies needs to be abit more balance.

I think just keep at the MC shooty and just fly in swoop and vector strike with everything staying as a group and then just breath EVERYTHING near the deathstar of MCs in the shooting phase, watching stuff evaporate. Oh, and then laugh when you can't be assualted, granted you didn't get grounded. Automatically Appended Next Post: Do you guys think assualt is out of the picture for this type of list? Just stay shooty the entire game?
How many units can be vector strike when you swoop fly assualt the board with 5 MCs?? If you can vector strike every single units, this MCs set up is out of the world.

Not really; you have to move between 12"-24", then only a 90 degree turn. 30+ orcs will take several well placed templates to wipe, and when your facing 3-4 full squads, plus other stuff....
I can see this list being good for a couple weeks while people sort it out. Funny thing is things like Venomspam will still rape this list; for every hit, you need to roll to go grounded. Venoms will average around 2 hits per venom. 9 venoms.... they can pretty well ground most of your army, then run it over with poisoned doom.
Not to say its not a bad list, but it has distinct advantages and disadvantages. Advantage: any army with little shooting is going to have a very hard time. Disadvantage: Any army with tons of firepower will be able to ground and decimate 250+ point MC's one at a time. Not to mention its limited troops, and you can still roll a bad wave.... This list entirely depends on weaver coming in with fliers, and being unassailable.

Well, it is pretty easy to get grounded, but you only have to take a ground test from when you get hit one or more times..... so if I get hit with 40 lasguns, same with 1 lascannon I only need 1 ground test. At best a ground test from each units shooting at a MCs. I agree with you though I think this will be really good till people start spamming volume of fire to ground all 5 MCs every turn.

Issue is the most common army out there (read: GK's) already have enough firepower to do that... top it off with everything having PE Daemons... you need more going for you than just 5 fliers, ya know?
