Now that the 6th edition is out there is this new unit type, flyer. Since Necrons don't have a real antiair unit I don't know how to handle the enemy flyers. I just don't think doom scythes are very good to take just against air units and heavy destroyers can't hit well enough (only 6 hits). So please tell me how should I handle the enemy aircraft.

Necrons have TONS of anti-air. They have tons of twin-linked S7 Tesla. Every 6 now becomes 3 hits and without the downside of AP- anymore, that is deadly. Also, Nightscythes and Doomscythes hit on normal ballistic skill against Flyers.

Yeah, I don't think that any Flier-classed vehicle has anything better than AV12 and three Hull Points. TL Tesla Destructors will hit on average something like 3.33 times at BS 1 and something like 5.33 times at BS 4. (these are approximate numbers, but they're pretty close.) I've said it before, and I'll say it again: with Snap Fire & Defensive Fire, TL is the name of the game in 6th Ed. And that means that TL Tesla is going to wreck face. ALSO: CCBarges will also bring down Fliers. It works like this: shooting attacks resolve against zooming Fliers at BS1, and zooming Fliers may not be assaulted. So then I present to you option C: The sweep attack is NOT an assault, nor is it shooting. And it resolves irrespective of the IC's BS, as the CCBarge sets specific requirements instead in order to hit. Therefore, a Surf Lord can bring down even zooming Fliers on a roll of 3+ or 4+, depending on how far the Surf Lord has travelled.

Aegis Defense lines also seem to be pretty rad as well for crons; giving cover to a large block of orbed warriors is never a bad idea

**bear in mind it has been pointed out to me recently that Sweeps are no longer as reat as they were.
Sweeps happen in the movement phase, Flat Out (the additional 18" movement) happens in the SHOOTING Phase.
Whcih means that a CCB can now only do sweep attacks a maximum of 12" away.

Even Tesla immortal are decent. However i think the greatest issues will be with the AV 12 flyers. Also doom scythes line attack should mess them up. Not a blast or template but auto hits

Nightscythes will be fine, a normal shooting phase for a single night scythe can drop any other flyer with zero problems. Or do what I do and take 8

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

Thought about doing so, but what would that squad of Warriors do throughout the game? :/

Stormravens are tough with a lot of good weapons. If you can basically ONLY glance vehices especially transports to death you're at a severe disadvantage. Marines, and eldar and guards are really the only ones who can get high strength guns in basically every single type of unit. They can make every unit AV and therefor have a lot more anti air options even without skyfire. Glancing to death sucks if it takes your entire army. When a lucky pen can blow it up and kill a few marines inside Automatically Appended Next Post: Sigvatr wrote:Zid wrote:Annihilation barges HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it'd take a few turns to kill the flyer. In the remaining turn they'd
1.) Move and shoot non skyfire shots
2.) See 1. Maybe you could have them close enough to hold an objective Automatically Appended Next Post: Ravenous D wrote:Nightscythes will be fine, a normal shooting phase for a single night scythe can drop any other flyer with zero problems. Or do what I do and take 8
Weird in four games I've had a storm raven survive every confrontation because it can jink
